Mas de Bonnieux Overview
With uninterrupted views over the estate's leafy vineyards and miles of lavender fields to the Luberon National Park, Mas de Bonnieux embodies the beauty of life in sensational Provence. This wonderful 18th-century farmhouse “Mas” is the quintessential Provençal retreat for those who wish to enjoy life at a slower pace in the countryside.
Accommodation is divided over two levels of the main house, and a guest cottage with a further bedroom (on request) – a set-up that is perfect for families or friends who want to be together but with the possibility of having their own space too. Carefully renovated, a blend of modern luxury and traditional elegance threads through the property, from the excellently equipped kitchen, spacious sitting rooms with antiques and an office, to the exquisite rose-scented gardens and heated saltwater pool. In addition to the formal dining area in the main house, there are several delightful outdoor terraces – one shaded by wisteria and well-positioned off the kitchen and a second near the pool, well-lit for long leisurely meals in the balmy evenings. There are two bedrooms on the lower ground floor which has a private entrance, and the remaining three bedrooms including the Master are on the upper floor, looking out over rolling hills and vineyards.
Just seven kilometres away, nearby Bonnieux is one of the prettiest villages in the Luberon, where you’ll find a Michelin-starred restaurant, local cafes and artisan shops. Fill a basket with fresh produce at the local market and enjoy a picnic with a glass of the estate's rosé back at the villa – you’re situated in the middle of a wine estate after all! There is also Petanque to enjoy in the grounds, along with a children's play area in the field next to the house.

Resort Description
If you are looking for a typical French village experience, a villa holiday in the hilltop village of Gordes and its surroundings may be just what you’re after. Situated on the edge of the Lubéron Natural Park, Gordes offers sweeping views of Provence (link) and has been officially named one of the most beautiful villages in France. For such a small area, Gordes has a surprising number of attractions. Lose yourself in the maze of narrow streets and alleyways and discover the historical wonders of Gordes Castle completed in 1031, the colourful Église Saint Firmin rebuilt in the 18th century and the Cellars of the Palais Saint Firmin, a fascinating underground system of ancient cellars and caves that once housed everything from workshops to oil mills.
The weekly market is another highlight here, where you can stock up on delicious local goodies to cook back at your villa. Just outside Gordes is the Abbey of Sénanque, which has become a symbol of Provence. Bathed in lavender fields, it is still occupied by Cistercian monks but tourists may visit the church, chapter house, dormitory, and cloister. Home to a wide variety of animal and plant species, the unspoilt surrounding Lubéron region showcases exquisite natural beauty, with many trails for hiking and mountain-biking. Renting a villa in Gordes allows you to experience this peaceful region of France at your own pace. Peruse our incredible selection of Provence villas and find yourself an indulgent countryside retreat with your very own private pool.
Mas de Bonnieux is brand new to Solmar Villas, so doesn't have any reviews yet. Remember, all of our villas are handpicked by our experts for their quality and location, and have also been safety checked for your complete peace of mind.
