Gozo Villa Holidays

Life in Gozo is generally a slower pace compared to neighbouring Malta, but it is nonetheless an impressive and beautiful island on which to make a base for your villa holiday. Rural scenery, a rocky coastline and red sand beaches make for a wonderful natural landscape, whilst the island's towns and villages are rich with cultural heritage, stunning palaces and excellent cuisine.

If your idea of paradise involves sandy beaches, quaint cafes and impressive sunshine, you'll love this wonderful island. The movie Troy used it as a backdrop, so you can rest assured that this stunning island offers so much in terms of natural beauty.

More about Gozo

Gozo is a small island off the coast of Malta known for its Mediterranean charm and relaxed pace of life. Though it may be small, there is no shortage of things to do here, and the proximity to Valetta means you can combine relaxation with vibrant city life.

Visitors can explore the island's many temples and historical sites, swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean, or relax on one of the many beaches.

There are also plenty of opportunities for hiking and cycling, and the island's restaurants offer a chance to sample the delicious local cuisine. Whether you're looking for adventure or want to relax in a beautiful setting, Gozo has something to offer everyone.

There's nothing like Gozo, and beach lovers flock here to grab a little piece of paradise. The island is small, but this is a good thing - because every single patch of sand and sea offers natural beauty you don't usually find with large resorts.

Ramla Bay

Ramla Bay is the only full-sand beach in Gozo, and you'll immediately notice the red and gold tones that make this beach so unique. Families love it here because you can rent sun loungers and use the beachfront cafe.

It gets busy during the summer, so get up early and claim your spot.

Hondoq is-Rummien

If you enjoy snorkelling, this beach won't let you down. It has crystal clear waters, and plenty of caves and coves to make the experience even more magical. The Mediterranean waters are filled with exotic sea life, and you might even see some wild dolphins.

Comino blue lagoon

The infamous blue lagoon isn't in Gozo, but we can't leave it off the best beaches. Comino is only a short boat trip away, and nobody can dispute the stunning beauty of the blue lagoon. Swim through it, gaze at it, dive in it, you won't regret the trip.

It will come as no surprise to learn that Gozo isn't a destination for clubbers, and its relaxed way of life means you're more likely to find bars and restaurants than bustling nightclubs or all-night raves.

However, there are some smaller nightclubs that still provide an excellent night out and if you're willing to travel a bit further afield, you can enjoy a livelier experience.

La Grotta

Travel to Gozo in the summer months, and you'll be able to enjoy La Grotta. It's a relatively small nightclub, but it still has plenty to keep you entertained. Live DJs often play at the club, and you can enjoy one of the themed evenings.

Flamingo

Flamingo has a retro vibe and a relatively small spot, which plenty of locals head to. Flamingo won't let you down if you're looking for some music, drinks and the opportunity to dance until the early morning hours.

Gleneagles Bar

If you're heading to Gozo, then you need to check out Gleneagles Bar. It's an institution and highly popular with locals and tourists alike. The bar has a relaxed vibe, with plenty of pub-based food and alcohol. There's even a live DJ on some evenings, and it's a great place to get to know the locals.

The island of Gozo is known for its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful scenery and warm hospitality. The food and drink scene on the island reflects this laid-back lifestyle, with a focus on fresh, local ingredients.

Traditional dishes such as rabbit stew and pasta with venison sauce are common, and seafood is always popular.

The island's wine is also worth trying, as Gozo's climate is ideal for grape growing. Red wines are particularly prevalent, but some excellent white wines are also available.

With its delicious food and drink, it's no wonder Gozo is a popular destination for travellers worldwide.

L-Ankara

One of the top destinations for people looking for a fine dining experience, this restaurant manages to serve high-quality cuisine at reasonable prices. With its range of fresh seafood dishes and a take on the traditional Maltese ravioli, you'll eat well here.

La Stanza

Another popular choice for traditional Maltese food is La Stanza. The setting is particularly impressive, as the restaurant is in one of Malta's many farmhouses - and this one dates back to the 17th Century.

With fresh, seasonal ingredients on the menu and a decadent sea urchin sauce, La Stanza is sure to tantalise your taste buds.

Pierre’s Restaurant & Pizzeria

Families know too well that children are picky eaters, but Pierre's Restaurant and Pizzeria is here to save the day. The menu features plenty of tasty steaks, seafood dishes, and pizza and pasta for the children.

The Club House

The Club House is the perfect location to catch up on your favourite sports team and enjoy traditional food. Burgers, beers and friendly locals make this spot unique, and the prices aren't too bad, either!

Piutrentanove

Cocktail lovers won't want to miss this lavish lounge bar. It's the go-to place for relaxation and has an extensive pizza menu. You'll find classic cocktails and some re-imagined drinks with a classic Maltese twist, so it's ideal for friends or couples.

Chip N Dale

Located in the heart of Victoria, Gozo, Chip N Dale is one of those classic British-themed restaurants ideal for families. It has a coffee menu, fish and chips, burgers, and even a vegetarian menu, so there's something for everyone.

Imagine being able to relax in your very own private villa with a spectacular coastline to keep you company. We have a beautiful selection of villas, all hand-picked by our dedicated team.

From contemporary homes to rustic buildings with natural stone, these Gozo villas offer the perfect combination of charm and comfort.

Whether you're a diving enthusiast and want to bathe in the crystal blue waters or prefer browsing through small boutiques on the charming cobbled streets, you'll find everything you need to enjoy a relaxing holiday in Gozo.

Gozo is steeped in rustic culture, and the entire island feels part of another era. Game of Thrones and Troy used it to shoot some scenes, and the fantastic history is apparent on every street.

What makes Gozo special is its ancient sites, including temples built in the Neolithic Age (3600 - 3000 BC). You can enjoy stepping back in time and marvelling at the Azure Window, among other sites.

Let's not forget that Gozo is close to Valetta and other areas in Malta, so you can easily hop onto a boat and discover other spectacular sites.

Museums

Most museums in Gozo focus on giving visitors a look at traditional life. The island is known for farming and a relaxing vibe, but that doesn't mean you'll find the history any less interesting.

The Folklore Museum is the best place to see traditional farming practices, but if you're more interested in art and history, it's a good idea to head to the Ecclesia Matter museum, which is full of artwork and a popular place for Roman Catholics.

Gozo also has a distinguished maritime history, which you can see at the Kelinu Grima Maritime Museum. It features artefacts collected by Kelinu Galea through World War I and II and offers a fantastic day out for families.

Malta is a primarily Roman Catholic country, so you can be sure that the churches are magnificent. The Rotunda of St. John the Baptist features the third largest dome worldwide, and its gothic design is simply stunning.

While most churches are open to the public, you should check before visiting, as many are still in use for services.

With so much history surrounding it, Gozo has plenty to see and do. The Ta Gurdan Lighthouse is worth the hike because it provides spectacular views over the rest of Gozo, but make sure you go early in the morning as the heat can be intense.

Mgarr war shelters

Step back to World War II and see what it was like to hide in a bomb shelter. The reconstructed shelters provide a sobering experience; you'll watch a short movie before heading into the shelters.

The Citadel

The Gozo Citadel was built by the Order of Saint John in the 16th Century to defend the island against Ottoman invaders. It's an impressive structure with towers, bastions and walls that give you sweeping views of the Mediterranean harbour and seas.

Visitors marvel at the structure and explore the underground tunnels and chambers used to store supplies and shelter troops during battle. The Gozo Citadel is a reminder of the island's rich history and provides visitors with a glimpse into the past.

While Gozo isn't known for its land wildlife, you can still enjoy some lovely nature if you know where to look. The Dream of Horses farm is perfect for children, as they'll learn about the horses being looked after by the management team and have the opportunity to groom and walk them.

You can also appreciate the true beauty of Malta by taking one of the many boat or jeep tours that let you experience everything the country has to offer.

While there are apartments and hotels in Gozo, the best way to experience the stunning island is with a lavish villa. We hand-pick all of our villas, so you can rest assured that booking accommodation with us gives you affordable holiday homes that ooze character.

Villas with a private pool

While Valetta is a busier place, Gozo is more relaxed, and most of our villas come with a private swimming pool, so you can enjoy complete privacy while still having fun. These villas have a traditional appearance, and many are within walking distance of the local amenities.

Whether you want to be in the heart of the action in a modern Victoria villa or prefer a more relaxed experience in a country farmhouse, these spacious holiday rental options are budget-friendly and secure.

Book a large holiday home for friends and family

Our villas sleep between six to twelve people, so if you're looking for a spacious property that brings your guests together, you're in luck. Some have a rooftop terrace and al fresco dining facilities, but you can also expect standard air conditioning and built-in WiFi.

With so much to offer in terms of activities and relaxation, Gozo could be your dream destination.

Whether you stay close to the beach or rent a car and explore everything the island offers, Gozo holidays allow you to unwind and appreciate natural beauty.

If you're planning on visiting during the summer, please book in advance, as these are the most popular months to travel to Gozo.

Our friendly team is just a phone call away, so don't hesitate to contact us if you want some support choosing the best villa for you.
