Paphos Region Villa Holidays

Paphos is where ancient history meets modern vibrancy, creating the ultimate cultural escape. Imagine a UNESCO World Heritage city by the sea, where Roman ruins tell tales of the past, and cutting-edge arts festivals breathe life into the present. Picture yourself under the stars, watching an independent film on the sandy shore, or feeling the pulse of a Japanese drum ensemble reverberate through the classical Town Hall square.

While Cyprus has long been a beloved destination for sun-seekers, Paphos adds a fresh, artistic buzz to the mix. This southwestern coastal gem is transforming into an Open Air Factory, with a dynamic arts program featuring over 150 projects and 300 events. After a day of exploring, head back to one of our villas in Paphos, where comfort and elegance provide the perfect backdrop to your cultural adventure.

Paphos invites you in with its diverse tapestry of culture and history. From its UNESCO-listed archaeological sites, including the mesmerising Tombs of the Kings, to the vibrant town squares which teem with cafes, boutiques, and a palpable sense of the Mediterranean.

Then there's the endless azure waters and white sandy beaches such as Coral Bay and Lara Beach, which promise total relaxation. Head down to Paphos Harbour where you can take a boat trip to visit the Akamas Peninsula, a protected nature reserve with wild beaches, hiking trails, and ancient ruins. Play a round of golf at one of the many golf courses in the Paphos region. Or take a trip to the Paphos Bird and Animal Park, a family-friendly attraction with a variety of animals from all over the world.

Paphos is home to some of the most beautiful, award winning beaches in Cyprus, with many of our holiday rentals within walking distance of them. A few of the very best include:

Coral Bay Beach

Coral Bay Beach is where natural beauty and vibrant atmosphere come together to create an irresistible seaside escape. Envision a crescent-shaped bay with powdery white sand and sparkling, crystal-clear waters, all set against the backdrop of Paphos' stunning coast.

This renowned beach offers more than just picturesque views—it’s a hub of convenience and relaxation. Imagine lounging on sunbeds with an umbrella providing shade, whilst nearby, a selection of chic restaurants and lively bars invites you to savour local flavours and enjoy the energetic ambiance.

Lara Beach

Lara Beach offers a peaceful escape where nature’s wonders take centre stage. Nestled in the protected Akamas Peninsula, this secluded stretch of sand is renowned for its turtle nesting grounds, providing a serene sanctuary away from the crowds. Picture yourself on a pristine, unspoiled beach, where the gentle waves and natural surroundings create a perfect retreat.

Accessible only by car and devoid of modern amenities, Lara Beach invites you to disconnect and immerse yourself in its raw beauty. Remember to bring your own supplies to fully enjoy this peaceful, nature-rich haven, where the focus is on preserving the tranquil essence of this unique coastal gem.

Aphrodite's Beach

This picturesque beach with white sand and clear waters is located near the village of Pegeia, and is said to be the birthplace of the Greek goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite. The beach is also known as Petra tou Romiou, which means "Rock of the Roman."

Latchi Beach

A long beach with shallow waters, it's ideal for families with young children. It's located near the village of Latchi, and is known for its beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Akamas Peninsula. There are a variety of restaurants and bars located nearby, as well as a boat harbour where you can book boat trips to the Blue Lagoon and other nearby attractions.

Avakas Gorge Beach

A secluded beach accessible only by boat or on foot, it's at the end of the Avakas Gorge, a beautiful hiking trail. The beach is renowned for its white sand and clear, aquamarine waters. It's also a popular spot for snorkelling and diving.

There’s a certain allure to Paphos when the sun dips below the horizon, casting a golden glow over a city brimming with life and excitement. As night falls, the vibrant pulse of Paphos awakens, offering a range of experiences that cater to every whim.

Imagine the lively hum of bars, each one a gateway to an evening of spirited revelry and dance. Yet, just around the corner, cosy traditional tavernas invite you to enjoy local flavours and charm. The city’s nightlife is a symphony of energy and tradition, where live music venues set the stage for unforgettable moments.

And after a night of fun, unwind in your own sanctuary with our villas in Paphos, where relaxation awaits.

Muse Cafe Kitchen Bar

There’s something truly enchanting about this bar and restaurant’s exterior: the lush garden at its heart, blooming with vibrant colours and soothing fragrances. Imagine savouring a meal amidst this verdant paradise, where every dish is a celebration and every drink, from inventive cocktails with island-fresh fruit to crisp, cool wines, is a delight.

As you dine al fresco, the view stretches gracefully over Paphos and the glistening sea, painting a picture of beauty that’s hard to forget. This isn’t just dining—Muse Cafe Kitchen Bar is a moment to take in, a beautiful escape into the heart of Paphos.

Green Hill Tavern

If you’ve spent a blissful day relaxing on the sands of Coral Bay, there’s no need to hurry back to central Paphos for your evening entertainment. Instead, venture into the hills and discover the Green Hill Tavern. The views here are nothing short of spectacular. Aim to arrive before sunset to fully appreciate the breathtaking panorama that unfolds before you, with a tipple or two in hand.

The Dome

For a nightlife experience that truly stands out, make your way to The Dome Bar. Here, fresh sushi meets inventive cocktails crafted with a flair for molecular gastronomy, resulting in drinks that surprise and delight with every sip. While the mixology remains impeccable, expect your beverages to come with a creative twist that’s perfect for that essential holiday money shot. Add in summer beats, and you've got an evening that’s as unforgettable as it is unique.

The Paphos region is not only a treasure trove of historical and natural wonders but also a haven for food enthusiasts. The local cuisine is a tasty blend of Mediterranean flavours, influenced by centuries of cultural exchange. From delicious meze platters to exquisite local wines, the food and drink of Paphos is an array of olive oil, fresh fruits, vegetables, and aromatic herbs.

Konia Tavern

Imagine a shower of napkins cascading through the air like confetti as diners dance and twirl across the floor, their energy filling the room. At Konia Tavern, Saturday nights are a vibrant celebration where the beat of traditional Cypriot music pulses through the air, and diners enthusiastically sing along whilst savouring delicious mezze.

Nola

While many of the restaurants in Paphos offer a classic take on Cypriot cuisine, Nola stands out with its fresh, modern twist. From the moment you step into the sleek, glass-fronted building on Municipality Square, you’ll notice the difference. A vibrant Frida Kahlo mural adorns the wall behind the bar, and the decor blends retro and industrial elements, creating an atmosphere that’s far from the usual taverna.

Here, expertly crafted cocktails complement a menu that goes beyond traditional mezze to include breakfast, brunch, and gourmet burgers. Nola redefines local dining with its chic setting and innovative approach, making each visit a unique experience.

Antigo Mezedopoleio

Bathed in the soft glow of fairy lights and flickering candles, Antigo Mezedopoleio exudes a warm and enchanting ambiance, with walls adorned in a charming collection of trinkets and antiques. This venue offers a slightly modern twist on the classic Cypriot taverna, blending nostalgic decor with a contemporary touch.

True to its name, meze takes centre stage here, inviting you to savour local delicacies. Expect to be treated to plates of exquisite Anari Cheese, flavourful Kolokythokeftedes, Loukaniko, and tender Kleftiko. Each dish is a celebration of traditional Cypriot flavours, served in a setting that captures the essence of both past and present.

From ancient archaeological wonders to vibrant traditions that still thrive today, Paphos is a region steeped in history and culture that dates back to the 4th century BC. The city was once a major centre of trade and culture, and many ancient ruins can still be seen.

Paphos Archaeological Park

A must-visit, Paphos Archaeological Park has a wealth of Roman mosaics that are some of the best-preserved in the Mediterranean. The intricate designs and vibrant colours of these mosaics, found in the House of Dionysus and the House of Theseus, offer a glimpse into the opulent lifestyle of the ancient Roman elite.

The Tombs of the Kings

A grand necropolis dating back to the 4th century BC, the Tombs of the Kings presents an impressive range of rock-cut tombs. Despite their name, the tombs were not reserved for royalty but are notable for their grandeur and the sheer scale of the burial chambers, reflecting the importance of the deceased in ancient society.

Aphrodite’s Rock (Petra tou Romiou)

Perhaps the most iconic site associated with the goddess, Aphrodite's Rock resembles a dramatic sea stack, set against a stunning coastal backdrop. It's said to be the spot where Aphrodite emerged from the foam of the sea. According to myth, the goddess was born fully formed from the sea and arrived at this very location, which has since become a symbol of beauty and love. The picturesque setting makes it a popular spot for visitors hoping to catch a glimpse of the goddess's mythical beauty and perhaps even experience a bit of magic themselves.

There’s something truly special about a Paphos villa holiday that stirs the soul: the freedom to roam your own private sanctuary, where the only footsteps you hear are your own. Imagine the luxury of having a villa that’s entirely yours—no need to share the pool or garden with anyone. It’s a bit like discovering a hidden gem, a personal paradise where every moment feels uniquely yours.

With no one else around, you can embrace the quiet solitude or share joyful splashes with friends and family. Awaken to a peaceful morning swim before the world stirs or enjoy a peaceful night swim under a canopy of stars.
