How is my booking affected?
The introduction of the Government traffic light system does not affect our ability to provide you with the villa holiday you have booked. Regardless of what category your destination country is in, you can expect your villa holiday to go ahead as planned. The requirement to quarantine on your return does not give you the option to cancel your holiday and receive a full refund. We are still able to provide your Villa booking and therefore there is still a responsibility to pay our suppliers for their services.
If you do not wish to travel you should contact your Travel Insurers. Disinclination to travel isn’t usually covered and so it is best to check the terms of your insurance policy.
We understand that the Government traffic light system will formally be reviewed again towards the end of June. If you are travelling later than this date, it may be the current system will have changed or not be in place at all. Whilst we continue to update our website regularly, we advise customers should also monitor updates.
What if I have a package holiday booked with Solmar?
If you have a package holiday with Solmar Villas, you are covered by the current Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018. Should FCDO advise against travel to your destination, you have the option to request to defer your holiday or we can offer a refund If we are unable to provide an element of the package you have booked.
If you are required to quarantine on your return home to the UK, as this has no impact on Solmar’s ability to provide your holiday, this would not provide you with the option to cancel the holiday and receive a refund.
What if I have taken out the Travel Restrictions Guarantee?
If you have taken out The Travel Restrictions Guarantee and you are travelling on or before the 1st July 2021, if your destination is on the Amber or Red list, you can use the guarantee now and choose to move your booking or opt to take a holiday voucher.
For bookings travelling after the 1st July 2021, we request your patience and we will provide an update after the next government announcement towards the end of June.
