Villa Tamarells Ullastres Overview
Villa Tamarells Ullastres is a beautiful villa which really shows off modern architecture. Enter via a sloping drive to the villa, which has been specially built to enjoy the sunny climate in Menorca. A large, sliding wooden shutter pulls back to open the villa to the elements, affording divine views of the local neighbourhood and the Mediterranean ahead. A traditional brick built BBQ and dining table and chairs are housed here, meaning you can enjoy gorgeous views over your lunchtime tapas. Cleverly designed with lots of glass windows and walls, you have the outdoor living vibe throughout the villa. Open plan areas house sofas, dining furniture and a nice, wooden fitted kitchen. The three bedrooms have been perfectly positioned with sliding doors, which open out directly out to the azure, blue pool which rests at the rear of the villa.
The villa is set in the sleepy village of Biniancolla, with a few local eateries and picturesque cove. If you want to travel a little further, Punta Prima is nearby and offers a more upbeat vibe and a supermarket. The beach is lovely, the water is crystal clear and great for snorkelling and the fish restaurants on the sea shore are divine! Alternatively, the beautiful purpose built fishing village of Binibeca is close by with a local mini-train running between the two resorts.

To access the villa there is a path which is a car width wide along with 18 steps but there is ramp access available too. The front door has a width of 70cm and other doors that access the pool area are 70cm wide. There is a slight incline to reach the villa and the pool has roman steps to enter. There are two steps down to the pool from the terrace and the grounds are is flat and even. Inside there are two steps down from the entrance to the lounge and two steps up to the bedrooms. All bedrooms have a door width of 70cm and all bathrooms have a door width of 70cm. Have previously stayed with Solmar many times in Pollenca, Majorca and this was our 1st time in Menorca. Tamarells is a well designed villa in great location with lovely sea view. It's literally across the road from the quiet cove of Biniancolla, which is mainly rocky but has a tiny beach area and is great for safe sea swimming or rock pool fishing for the kids. Also about 40 yards from a decent pizza restaurant. There were only 3 of us staying but I don't think it would be at all cramped if the maximum 6 places were all filled. The villa itself is well designed and you can open up the huge sliding door on the frontage to maximise the sea view and lovely sea breeze, or close over to increase shade. Air con in the 3 bedrooms is very efficient and can be set to 'arctic' if you like it that way. Brand new TV has satellite channels, but as ever they are virtually all German - bring kids TV/Movies on a USB or DVDs instead . There are 2 good sized seating areas on the patios for dining and plenty of decent sun loungers and parasols for relaxing by the pool. The pool itself was very clean and wonderfully bug free. Unlike most previous villas I've stayed in, the guests' pool toys and inflatables seem to be left for others to enjoy and there is a pretty huge selection available. Biniancolla is mainly Spanish, with few Brits or other tourists around you (part from the other Solmar villa next door). Villa not really overlooked by other properties, so would suit those who like their privacy. Apart from the pizza place there are another 2 restaurants within 10 mins walk. Further afield there are many restaurants and mini markets in Cala Torret or Punta Prima - both 1 mile way so 25 mins walk or 5 mins in car. There is a huge water park and resort hotel a couple of hundred metres back from the villa, but the noise is pretty low apart from a few hours in the evening and the wind is usually blowing in direction that further limits it. Was not an issue. All in all it was a great choice and I would recommend. Menorca is definitely quieter, cleaner and feels more "Spanish" than Majorca. Tamarells is ideal if you have small kids and want a relaxing, no effort break.

Our villa was lovely, in a nice quiet area, with great views over the rooftops to the sea. The swimming pool was a great size for our family of four. The villa is well equipped but seems in need of a bit of TLC however this did not affect our holiday in any way and we would definitely recommend and visit again.

We had an excellent week at villa ullastres. The position of the Villa was great looking out to sea and over the small harbour very quiet. We would recommend the 'La Baia' Pizzeria opposite for pizza,and the beach at binibeca for fantastic swimming and beach facilities and also the Euroski supermarket at StLluis. We found using your site easy to use and book our holiday.We have no hesitation in recommending Solmar villas especially to all who ask ' where did you get that lovely tan from'
