Villa La Pinta

This Villa was in a good location for both the town and Marina of Cala D’Or. We found it had everything we needed but thought it was very tired. The main reason I gave it an 8 as a score was the stairs being outside which effectively made this villa like 2 apartments although the upstairs have had its kitchen taken out!! Putting a microwave and kettle and toaster would have been useful as coming up and down especially in the rain was not ideal and as we had 3 children staying with us meant we had to split up to babysit with one upstairs and one down so this is not ideal for families with children and more suitable for groups of adults. We did have a nice holiday and were able to walk to most places as this is in a good location we did not use the pool it was too cold and looked cloudy. We walked to the beach which was lovely.

Villa is an ideal location to head into Cala D'or or the Marina, really is in a great spot. Restaurant across the street is good. Villa is well equipped and air conditioning is good quality. It is on timer but you get a few decent hours. Kitchen is good standard and plenty of space inside. Outside furniture not the most comfortable and a bit tired, this is where it lets it down a bit. Old wooden chairs and sunloungers are just fabric & saw better days. Good pool though and quiet location, could do with a refresh of the outside furniture.

+++Fantastic location of the villa, 4 minutes up to the centre. Large 2-storey house and decent-sized pool. Had grown-up boys with me who got the top floor and it was great to have their own living room for them. Big plus with own fridge on both floors. Short distance to the beach and all facilities. 3 minutes to the Marina which was very nice. Great with a rental car as there was plenty of space for the cars on the road. - The sunbeds had seen better days as several were broken and the pool was cloudy when we arrived. Was a caretaker who tried to fix but thinks the pump was too bad. The cleaning ladies were there when we were to take over the villa not having finished washing. The outside had not been washed and there were lots of nails on the terrace on the second floor. The home needs an update as much is worn out. Bed bases were broken, sofas worn out and several dining chairs had seen better days. Spotlessly clean and within easy reach of the old town and port and beach .located in a nice quiete area with surrounding villas . The old town was stunning as we're the beaches and a trip into pollenca is a must 15 minutes in a taxi . Water park 10 minutes in a taxi. Would definately reccomend . Solmar were fantastic from start to finish booking and transfers always helpful . Our rep out there sheree also on hand for any questions quickly responded was helpful and lovely. The fridge wasn't very efficient, it didn't really keep things cold and there was very rarely hot water for the showers on an evening. The air con being on a timer was a bit of an issue as we struggled to keep rooms cool. The pool and pool area were wonderful and the different levels meant that there was lots of outdoor space and different places to sit at different parts of the day. The rooms all connect outside rather than inside - which works but was unexpected. It was immaculately clean when we arrived and a welcome pack of food had been very thoughtfully left. The instructions to get to the villa were confusing at the end. The villa has a sign outside saying 'Zabetta Farmhouse' rather than a villa. The other downside is that there is a cattle farm about 1/4 away so that can affect the house depending on the breeze. It is fine if, like us, you are used to country atmosphere. The location was ideal. Lovely comfortable shaded areas for dining and eating. Lots of useful information provided by the owner. Inside design of villa is lovely but the important things that make it comfortable are lacking, beds are so uncomfortable, towels are limited to 2 per person for showering, no spare bedding at all, if someone spilt something on covers etc, there is not one spare sheet to use! Had to request extra pillows as there was only 1 pillow per bed and they were very thin. Would also be useful to provide some basic kitchen items for guests like salt/pepper, there was nothing at all, so you have to buy everything for the Villa, including toilet roll!
