Villa Belladonna

Lovely villa in a very central location and not too far from the front and right next to a supermarket and garage which has a shop, cafe and pharmacy. Could do with a little TLC internally in which case I’d have given it 5 stars.

After having read some very negative reviews after I’d booked this villa, I was really concerned about what it was going to be like, however I needn’t have worried. The villa is in a great location, right across the road from a shopping mall with a large supermarket and several nice restaurants. We walked to the “front” of the resort to go to the twice-weekly market, but to be honest you do have to negotiate some very busy roads and the taxi we got back only cost €4 - much better idea! The pool and outdoor space are top notch - very well kempt with lots of different little areas with chairs, loungers etc to catch the sun at all times of the day. Pool, with ladder access, is not too large or too deep but feels comfortably big enough to swim a number of lengths. Inside the property may not be the best we’ve ever stayed in, but it is far from being the worst, and for the price it is far more than just “adequate”! So perhaps the decor could do with a spruce-up, but it is clean and spacious and comfortable. The living room, with a large sofa, coffee table and tv is open plan with a dining area containing a fairly large dining table and chairs. The kitchen has another small dining table & chairs and all the usual white goods. The piece de resistance though, is a large plumbed in water filter with cooler/heater - what a bonus THAT is! No carrying huge bottles of water from the supermarket and trying to squeeze them into the fridge - there’s ice cold filtered water right on tap! Although the description says there are 2 toilets in the property, there are in fact 4, with one of them being on the ground floor which is really handy. The master bedroom is fabulous…with ensuite and a balcony and contains a huge bed and a tv. Also on the first floor is another double bedroom, a twin room and a family bathroom. Somewhat incongruously, there is a further large double bedroom in the basement adjoining the garage (🤷🏼‍♀️) which has a seated area with tv and a toilet with shower also in the same area. There is lots of storage space throughout the villa. The one issue we did have was with the smoke alarms, one of which started “beeping” at 10pm and continued throughout the night. When someone came out to look at it a couple of days later a SECOND alarm unit (in the basement) also began to ‘beep’ & we had to learn just to ignore it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ All in all though, it was well worth the money and I would definitely recommend it as a great place for a large family to spend a holiday! ☀️😎
