Most people know of the lively Palma resort in Mallorca, but Puerto Pollensa is a gem in itself. 

Located on the northern side of Majorca, it guarantees a quieter and more relaxed holiday than the noisier and busier southern Majora.

The best thing about the resort is its old-fashioned charm. As developers began turning it into a holiday destination during the 1920s, the town has a more authentic vibe than the highly developed Palma.

Visit a beautiful sandy beach

Puerto Pollensa is renowned for its many beaches, and each offers something different. Nature lovers will love Cala Boquer Beach, a truly unspoiled part of the island and rich in greenery.

Playa D'Albercuix is another gem of the small town, with its small beaches lined with sandy coves. If you're looking for a more active holiday, don't forget to check out Llenaire Beach, which is the best spot to participate in windsurfing and kite surfing. 

Perhaps the most touristy beach, Port de Pollença, has long stretches of sand with the opportunity to rent loungers and enjoy food and drinks from the many restaurants in the area. 

Appreciate nature

One of the top things to do is take a stroll along the infamous Pine Walk. You can go in the daytime or evening and appreciate the beautiful trees that line the many beaches.

If you'd prefer a more active experience, we recommend the Vall de Boquer hike, which shows a more rustic side of the resort town.

Discover history

While there aren't many historical and archaeological sites in Puerto Pollensa, families can still enjoy some attractions. With plenty of car rental services, why not drive to Cap de Formentor and see the lighthouse?

It's not always open for public visits, but you can walk along the rocks and appreciate the spectacular building.

Don't forget to explore old town Pollensa, because it was a hotspot for invaders in the past, and you can appreciate the many cultural influences.

Sample the cuisine

Some excellent restaurants are around, including pizzeria and Indian establishments. The Restaurante Bellaverde is fully vegan, with no animal products, making it an ideal choice for visitors.

Families will also enjoy the Dakota Tex Mex restaurant, which serves Mexican-themed food, including burgers and fajitas.

Take a day trip to Cala San Vicente

The small resort town of Cala San Vicente is close to Puerto Pollensa and has plenty of small and cosy beaches. You can enjoy the mountain views and relax on the sandy beaches while the kids play in the water.
