Amazing villa, great location with few restaurants and shop within walking distance. We had a lovely holiday and would return

On arrival (late at night), all seemed well....pool lit, spacious villa, a/c operational and newly updated shower rooms. However, on using the kitchen on our first full day, I discovered that most of the crockery wasn't clean nor had the oven been cleaned. There was also an unpleasant smell emanating from both shower rooms which I initially put down to the heat/local drainage. By day 2, this had become much worse and I reported this to Solmar (including the unclean kitchen). The following day, the rep came out and sprinkled some cleaning granules into the floor drains of both shower rooms and said that the maintenance team was not available till the next day but they would come out to sort the problem if the cleaning product had not worked. She also advised that the cleaning team would be instructed to clean the kitchen the following day and only we should only use essential items until then...!!! I slept on the sofa that evening as the downstairs bedroom and ensuite bathroom were unusable owing to the smell. The following evening when we returned from a day at the beach, the smell was even worse despite being assured by Solmar that the shower rooms and drains had been serviced. The kitchen had not been cleaned. Another night on the sofa.. When the maintenance man arrived the following morning, he seemed perplexed as to why he had been called out again. When I showed him the overflowing drain in the courtyard (which he evidently had not checked the day before) he then disappeared... Another night on the sofa. The following day, 3 waste lorries arrived, blocking the drive and spent the best part of the day emptying & fixing the broken drains in the adjacent villa, managed by Solmar (same drainage system as we were informed later). Not the most pleasant of days as one of my daughters was not feeling well so we couldn't leave the villa to escape the sewage operations! Sadly the smell persisted that evening and into the next day, albeit not as bad as I could open the window now the manhole in the courtyard below wasn't overflowing!!! I informed Solmar of this and repeated my suggestion that there must be a 'trap' problem in the new bathrooms - none of the new sinks have Ubends/traps so any smells will inevitably permeate back into the room. On day 7of our holiday, we were finally offered the option of alternative accommodation late in the evening .... In hindsight, I wish we had asked to be moved at the very beginning but as we were assured each time & each day that everything would be fixed immediately, I believed the rhetoric and gave them the benefit fo the doubt. Big mistake.. We will not be using Solmar again for their very pedestrian approach to resolving anything (despite the continued & daily reassurances from the admin team that things would be fixed) and we would not recommend using this villa until they have sorted out the plumbing. What could and should have been an amazing holiday was completely ruined and a complete waste of money. Points of note Cleaning When we met the cleaning team later in the holiday, they were extremely polite & hard working. This should not be seen as a criticism of them; their management, yes. I don't think they are allocated sufficient time and resources to ensure everything is kept clean on changeover. Location The villa is adjacent to a fruit & veg depot (lorries, palettes and discarded fruit & veg) which you have to drive round to enter/exit the villa which isn't mentioned in any of the descriptions.
