Welcome to Punta Prima, Menorca, Spain

Holiday Villas in Punta Prima, Menorca

All with a private pool

Solmar Villas is pleased to offer a selection of luxury villas in Punta Prima – on the island of Menorca. Punta Prima is at the southernmost tip of the island. The resort itself is mainly a beach holiday resort, with a few hotels and mini-marts – the beach being the main attraction. However it still has some of its natural charm and characteristics – it’s a great place to choose a holiday villa rental if the quality of local beaches is particularly important to you.

The Golden sands of Menorca

The beach in Punta Prima is one of the most visited on the island, and as it is so close to the island’s capital, Mahon, many locals visit on the weekend. With its fine white sands on one side and the rocks on the other, the waters here are among the clearest in the Mediterranean. There are many facilities and sports – including pedaloes, windsurfing and sailing – available at the beach, making it a favourite of families staying at a luxury villa in Punta Prima. The beach is ideal for children as the water is fairly shallow and it is well protected from the currents of the sea. Our private villas in Punta Prima are only around ten kilometres from Mahon (MAH) Airport. The journey time is approximately 15 minutes.

Things to Do

The beach is the main attraction in Punta Prima as it is mainly a beach resort. There is a bus service that goes to St Lluis and Mahon, as well as other resorts. Just a short journey away from your holiday villa rental, you’ll find plenty of things to do.

Water Parks

There are two water parks in Menorca and due to the size of Menorca you are never too far away to visit one of them:

• Aqua Park, Cala Forcat: A small water park ideal for younger children with a restaurant and a bouncy castle play area. The park can be found on the main road going into Cala Forcat – near to Hotel Los Delphines

• Aqua Rock, Cala en Bosc: A larger park that includes four big slides, including the Black Hole and the Kamikaze, one large pool with both walk-in and jump in areas, one small pool with smaller slides for the young ones, and a pool with a wave machine

Diving, Sailing & Fishing

Menorca offers fantastic diving sights and S'Algar – along with Binibeca, Cala Galdana, Port Addaia, Calan Forcat and Cala Bosc – offers courses from a ‘try a dive’ course to longer courses lasting five or six days. There also several clubs located around the island where you may wind sail and take sailing lessons.

The local towns hold big markets, selling the most traditional craft products, including ‘Arvacas’, Menorca footwear, leather goods in general, costume jewellery and earthenware ceramics. Again, because Menorca is relatively small, you’ll never be far away from these markets when you stay in a luxury villa to rent in Punta Prima.

• Ciutedella: Friday/Saturday

There is one golf course in Menorca, located in Son Parc – Club de Golf Son Parc. The course is near the sea, surrounded by pine trees. It is a moderate, even course – however, the wind can make it a challenge. Claiming to be championship quality it is ideal for beginners and experienced golfers. It has recently been extended to 18 holes and has been designed to be sympathetic to the local environment by leaving natural features such as rocks and planting in situ. Son Parc Golf is also famous for its resident peacocks!

In addition to the greens, the golf course offers a putting range, tennis court and club house restaurants. Tel: +34 971 359 059

Menorca has many fiestas, one of the most famous being the Ciudadella Fiesta of Saint Joan on June 23 and 24. The horses bred in Menorca are the stars of the fiestas – they move to the rhythm of the airs of Menorcan ‘jota’ tunes, the most famous being the Saint Joan jota.
