The Villa is in a good location near a shop and bus stop onto Mao, which is very convenient. The area was quiet. The Villa was clean, and had a well stocked kitchen. The furniture was basic. The double bed had a dip in the middle and was not much better than a camp bed. The main issue was outside. We were perturbed to find cats and chickens roaming freely outside for all of the stay. As a result we were never able to open doors or windows. The droppings from the animals around the pool, meant you had to watch where you walked, and we had to clean it. The pool was only cleaned twice during our stay. There was constant debris floating on top, dead flies, leaves and gunk. We tried to clean it ourselves with the net (which had a hole) however we never could get it properly clean, as a result we could only use the pool twice in two weeks. This did spoil our holiday.

The photos on Solmar Villas website are misleading as a garden wall has been removed making the pool area overlooked by the neighbouring hotel . The water quality in the swimming pool was poor and despite reporting this to Solmar the issue was not resolved and we were therefore unable to use the pool during our entire weeks stay. The staff at Solmar were responsive to our complaint but their contractor failed to rectify the problem.

To access the villa there is a path which is 470cm wide along with 4 steps up to the villa itself. The front door has a width of 80cm and other doors that access the pool area are the patio doors from the lounge which are 140cm wide. Paths from the villa to pool area are 103cm wide. The grounds are flat (tiled) although there are 4 steps that lead down to the pool from both the main entrance door, the covered terrace and barbecue area. The widest bedroom door on the ground floor is 77cm wide which is the double bedroom. The widest bathroom door on the ground floor is 80cm. The door into the kitchen/dining area is 80cm wide and the door into the lounge area is 93cm wide. *Please note that although every effort has been made to ensure the information provided is accurate, errors can occur and if you need to find out more specific information about the villa, please do not hesitate to contact us.
