Majorca, the largest of the Balearic Islands, is one of the most popular holiday destinations, and for good reason. With a vast selection of beaches and hidden coves, this sun-drenched island leads the way in Balearic beach bliss!

Long stretches of fine white sand coupled with water sports, beach bars and promenades, as well as more peaceful, pebbly coves off the beaten track, make Majorca’s beach selection varied yet satisfying.

Cala d’Or

Cala d’Or beach is one of the most popular beaches in Majorca. It's renowned for its captivating beaches and scenic beauty, and is located in the south-west of the island and has a wide range of facilities on offer, including sun loungers and parasols. If you want to eat or drink, there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby.

Palma Nova

Palma Nova beach is one of the most gorgeous beaches in Majorca. Palma Nova is a small town on the east coast, close to the airport and just south of Alcudia Bay. The beach itself runs for about 4km, but it has two distinct areas: one relatively shallow and sandy with rocks in the middle; and the other which is much deeper and clear of rocks.

The beach is popular with families as there are plenty of facilities for children including a small water park near the entrance to Palma Nova marina. There’s also an excellent range of restaurants nearby if you don’t want to cook for yourself after your day on this glorious sun-kissed beach.

Puerto Alcudia

Stretching for several kilometers, this Blue Flag beach has fine, golden sand and shallow, calm waters. Its gradual slope into the sea makes it perfect for children to safely paddle and play. Water sports enthusiasts can indulge in activities like windsurfing and sailing, whilst those looking relaxation can bask in the sun or take leisurely walks along the shore.

Playa de Muro

Playa de Muro is a beautiful beach on the north coast of Majorca, close to Ciutadella. It's a haven for families and water sports enthusiasts alike. With its powdery white sand and shallow, calm waters, it's perfect for a relaxing day under the Mediterranean sun. There are also plenty of options for eating at the many seafood restaurants close by.

Our Alcudia villas are close to some of the best tourist beaches equipped for families, whilst our Puerto Pollensa villas offer easy access to long stretches of golden sand. The charming coves further south in Cala d’Or provide a more serene and tranquil experience.

Read our guide to the best beaches in Majorca if you want to learn more about where to head if you want to experience a slice of paradise.

Enjoy a sundowner or two in one of our Mallorca villas, next to your private pool. Or if you prefer to get out and about, discover the mix of laid-back bars and high-octane nightclubs, with the latter predominantly located on the southwest of the island close to Palma and Santa Ponsa.

If you're looking for a party, Magaluf is the place to go. The lively bars and clubs offer plenty of opportunities to dance the night away, plus there are also some great restaurants serving up delicious Mediterranean food if you need a break from all the energy.

The resorts of Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa offer the perfect variety of vibrant bars with live music and open-air restaurants for those wanting a quiet drink.

Experience the vibrancy of Mallorca's nightlife, from chic lounges to beach clubs, cultural events, and late-night dancing, all within easy reach whilst indulging in the comfort of our exclusive villas to rent in Mallorca.

The island's cuisine is a reflection of its history. With tapas restaurants lining the streets, you’re in for a culinary treat. In addition to enjoying some of the best wine and seafood in Spain, you can also sample a wide variety of regional specialties as well as typical fare like paella (a rice dish), Tortilla De Patatas (potato omelet), and Bocadillos De Calamares (fried calamari sandwiches).

Speciality dishes in Majorca include Tumbet – a vegetarian stew similar to a Ratatouille, and Serviola a la Mallorquina – fresh fish baked and smothered in a rich tomato sauce.

Our villas to rent in Mallorca are never too far away from restaurants serving these specialties as well as a variety of international cuisines to suit all tastes.

Though Majorca is a modern tourist destination, its roots are deep rooted in culture and history. The island was inhabited by the ancient Greeks and Romans, who left behind their own ruins in the form of temples and theatres. You can visit these sites yourself by taking day trips from Palma or Alcudia.

Experience the capital Palma

Palma, the capital of Majorca, has a rich history. The city's old town, known as La Ciutat Vella, dates back to medieval times and offers many beautiful examples of Catalan Gothic architecture.

Wander in the footsteps of Picasso

If you're an art fan, take a trip to Palma de Mallorca, the city that was Picasso's home base during much of his life, and visit his studio on Carrer del Convent which contains a few of his paintings. Or head to his house in Port Lligat, where he lived from 1953 until his death in 1973. The house is located on the northwest coast about an hour from Palma. It's open daily from 9:30am to 9pm.

Immerse yourself in the local markets

Exploring local markets, such as the Mercat de l'Olivar in Palma or the Sineu Market, allows visitors to experience Mallorca's vibrant artisanal crafts, including pottery, glassware, and intricate embroidery.

Take in the beauty of the stone villages

Venturing beyond the cities unveils Mallorca's rural charm. Discover picturesque stone villages like Valldemossa and Deià, where artists and writers have sought inspiration amidst stunning landscapes.

Majorca is an island of contrasts; it has a fascinating history, plenty of sights for culture vultures, shops for shopaholics, delicious local cuisine for foodies, and more beaches than you can count on your fingers and toes. It also has a Mediterranean climate with warm summers and mild winters that make it perfect for year-round travel.
