Très belle villa avec belle piscine simplement literie à revoir

A gorgeous villa - really clean and spacious. Such a chilled out and peaceful area too.

First,the negatives I know that there have to be house rules but the amount of do’s and don’ts was repressive.Also, instead of using words like “It is mandatory…” I suggest “It would be appreciated if guests… or Could guests kindly…”.A bit of courtesy to paying guests would go a long way. On leaving we only then noticed that there was a sticker on the back of the key box which stated that keys must not be removed before 4pm. When we arrived at 12 noon, the villa had been prepared and I’m sorry but we were not going to wander around with cases for 4 hours on the whim of the owners in 32 degree heat.Obviously, if the cleaners were in the villa we would drop our cases and disappear until it was ready for our arrival. I get the impression that the owners do not want people in their villa but need the money and begrudgingly allow it. The information pack also insisted that any breakages must be replaced immediately and numerous times they stated that the accidental damage waiver would not cover things- for instance the two sun brolleys,which were so threadbare and tatty they must have been worth £3 combined but it stated they must be replaced at once if damaged and yes, the accidental waiver did not cover this.I am left wondering just what the waiver does cover and why am I paying insurance cover to Solmar under these circumstances. Also, the rules stated that that no glasswear was allowed around the pool area. Perfectly sensible, however, there was not one plastic cup or beaker in the villa as an alternative.It is a family villa, how do kids manage outside with only glasswear. All in all, the villa generally needs money spent on it to bring it up to a more acceptable standard as it is starting to fall below par. Good points( yes,there are some) All bedrooms had air conditioning and were very comfortable. The kitchen was fine and there was a large terrace and plenty of garden space. The pool was a good size and clean although the sides were showing signs of wear and despite a depth notice in the shallow end there was none in the deep end and it did shelve away steeply at the half way point. The villa was close to Vale da Parra and the town itself was lovely with some very good restaurants and an Aldi. My wife talked to the maid and said she was lovely and couldn’t be more helpful,although I pointed out that this may be a case of good cop bad cop and when she left we should await with trepidation the arrival of the Camp Commandant to berate us for some minor infraction of “Ze Rules”. However, we escaped any wrath and on the whole enjoyed our holiday as the weather was great and town really nice and only a half hour walk to the beach at Gale. We would return to Vale da Parra,just not to this villa unfortunately.
