Located to the west of the lively resort of Albufeira, the peaceful haven of Castelo is the perfect base for enjoying the sights of the Algarve. The breathtaking Castelo beach is surrounded by impressive cliffs and castle shaped rock formations which is where this resort gains its name. Castelo is a quiet residential area making it perfect for relaxing holidays and still offers a selection of bars, restaurants and a supermarket. The nearby resort of Albufeira, known for its fantastic sandy beaches and sizzling nightlife, is conveniently 10 minutes away.

The villa was a bit tired but mostly clean and tidy. The bathroom tiles and shower doors could do with a deep clean. The pool was good and kept really clean. Some sun loungers were grubby but it was great to have parasols. It was good to have pool towels too but they were a bit thin. The bath and hand towels were very thin and should have been renewed ages ago. Sufficient coat hangers and storage in bedrooms and all the cutlery, crockery and glassware that we required in the kitchen. Lounge/diner comfortable, though the tv needs attention. Importantly, the patio door opening onto the side of the villa did not lock. The location for our purposes was good because we had a car and could travel to supermarkets for shopping or visit anywhere we wished. A car is essential. There were several restaurants within walking distance. There could have been some games available eg table tennis and indoor board games. It wasn’t expensive. Overall we loved the villa being within walking distance to the beaches and it was a good base to explore other areas by car. A nice villa with traditional furnishings and a decent size pool.

To access the villa there is a path which is 120cm wide along with 7 steps to the villa itself. The front door has a width of 80cm and other doors that access the pool area are the patio doors from the lounge which are 78cm wide. The pool has roman steps to enter and the rear gardens and pool area are flat but there are two steps down to the pool level from the villa. All bedroom doors on the ground floor are 68cm wide and all the bathroom doors on the ground floor are 66cm wide. The door into the kitchen/dining area is 72cm wide and the door into the lounge area is 78cm wide. *Please note that although every effort has been made to ensure the information provided is accurate, errors can occur and if you need to find out more specific information about the villa, please do not hesitate to contact us.
