Casa Montenegro Overview
Ideally located within walking distance of all local amenities, Casa Montenegro has lots on offer for a delightful stay. This wonderful villa is split over many different levels, the raised heated* swimming pool offers a prime position to enjoy the sun. Whilst the interior has steps leading off to different areas allowing a bit of extra privacy between guests.
As you enter the villa you'll be greeted by the large open-plan living area with a huge corner sofa and doors leading onto the terrace. Also on this level are two ensuite bedrooms with air conditioning to keep you cool, calm, and collected. The remaining facilities are on the lower level, with a second lounge area, games room, and two further bedrooms.
We love the fact a stay at this villa means you won't require a car. A leisurely stroll in under 15 minutes will bring you to the beach, a local shop to top up on essentials, dining options, and also bring you to the heart of the Carvoeiro action.

To access the villa there is a path which is 160cm wide, along with 6 steps. The front door has a width of 80cm, whilst other external doors are 180cm. There’s a path leading to the pool terrace which is 120cm. The pool requires step access and the villa grounds are mostly flat, however on different levels. The ground floor bedroom and ensuite doors have a width of 73cm. The door into the kitchen and lounge is 74cm wide. There are 12 steps to the first floor where the widest bedroom door is 78cm, and the widest ensuite door is 58cm. The villa is relatively flat, however the walk into the centre of town does involve a steep descent.

Casa Montenegro is an ideal Villa for a large group providing spacious accommodation and plenty of facilities to keep everyone entertained. Its location is excellent only being a short walk to the centre of Carvoeiro. The hill is steep but a taxi/Uber is only €4 if you decide not to tackle it! Would certainly stay here again and would recommend it without hesitation

The villa offered excellent value for money. Yes, it is slightly tired and showing some signs of wear and tear but for our family it scored 8 or 9 out of 10 on every metric we could think of which is fantastic. We think the brochure underplays the enormous size of the property and the number of private spots that members of the group can use if they want a little bit of privacy. Everything worked, which is a first in our experience of villas and it was relatively clean and well appointed. We had excellent weather and spent most of the time outside, but even had it rained we feel there was sufficient space inside to fully occupy us, in particular the games room. The local shops and the beach were closer than we expected and the resort and immediate surroundings were of a higher quality than the brochure intimated. It doesn't have the glamour or polish of a brand new flash villa but it really worked for our family group of eight adults and one infant.

The Villa was perfect and everything we expected from viewing the posting/villa pictures. The villa itself has everything you need and is much larger than we initially thought. On arrival the access was very easy and instructions very clear. The cleanliness was second to none and everything was provided for us such as a large amount of beach towels, shower towels and even the small things like washing machine tablets. Some would say the villa might feel a little bit dated, however we thought it fitted in with the old town scenery of Carvoeiro and had an authentic feel to it. The safe is battery powered and the batteries happened to run out of power mid way through. We rang the number on the guide and they were very helpful and sent somebody straight over with the master key. The only recommendations we'd give is possible another set of keys given the size of the villa and the amount of people it can fit. We did have to keep juggling the keys about and sometimes some of us were at the beach or in different parts of Carvoeiro and wanted to go back at different times. There was a couple of slightly damaged/missing items, but nothing to cause a fuss over i.e. one of the parasols fabric kept coming off the metal frame so you had to fix it whilst putting it up and the black ball in the pool table was missing. Nevertheless, the villa is absolutely perfect for a large family and can easily sleep 12 people. We're considering booking again for next year!
