To access the villa there is a path which is 250cm wide as well as 12 steps to the front door. There is also ramp access to the front entrance. The front door has a width of 82cm and other doors that access the pool area are the lounge patio doors which are 230cm wide but there are 3 steps this way. Paths from the villa to the pool area are 250cm wide, the grounds a re a mixture of stone cobble and grass and the pool has roman steps to enter. The widest bedroom door on the ground floor is 82cm wide which is the double room and the widest bathroom door on the ground floor is 64cm wide which is the shower room. Resort Description
Lakithra is a traditional village, perched on top of a gentle lush hillside above the azure blue coastline in the south of Kefalonia.
Largely unspoilt and very much off the beaten track, it is perfect walking territory with many small colourful pathways, some leading to delightful neighbouring villages and others simply making for a lovely walk. Walk down a twisting country lane for a couple of miles to the shimmering coast and you are likely to find a couple of isolated beaches, perfect for young children and couples alike, seeking a little privacy and peace & quiet.
Lakithra itself is a cosy cluster of all things Greek, old ramshackle buildings interspersed with brand new villas, linked by twisting pathways and flower-filled gardens, with its rural setting making for a most pleasing and peaceful patchwork of orchards and olive groves. The unhurried Greek Island pace of life is infectious here, meaning you will wind-down without even thinking about it. There's a tangible off-the-beaten-track feel …though many of the island's attractions are just a short and scenic drive away. And the beauty of being in an un-touristy town is that things are comparatively cheap.

Excellent villa in a good location. Lovely outlook from the garden/pool and balcony with views of the sunset in the evening, and conveniently placed for trips to the capital or elsewhere. Airport proximity and view of the planes was an added bonus, with any noise from planes (a slight concern of ours pre-holiday) very unobtrusive.

Absolutely 10/10 for everything, this villa is in the perfect location being only about 4 miles from the capital and easy to reach the coast too. In the same village you have 3 or 4 restaurants and a local shop with most things to keep you stocked up. Don't let the runway being so close out you off. You can just about hear the planes as they land and you can find it quite interesting to watch them coming in to land. During our week stay there was only about 3 flights a day maximum! Thanks for another easy holiday Solmar.

A large, modern, well equipped villa, set over three floors, centrally positioned on it's large plot. We hired a car in advance and were met and driven 100 metres out of the gate to the hire company! The villa is about 1km from the airport in a straight line but it's about 200 metres higher than the airport. You can see the runway from the upstairs balcony and we actually enjoyed a bit of plane spotting but on the patio/poolside it's just sea views and wasn't intrusive. The pool cleaner/gardener came every other evening and the house cleaners, early afternoon every other day. Locally, only around half the bars/restaurants were open in early May but all supermarkets and main attractions were open. We hired a boat for the day from Skala (Dolphin Ski Hire). Go early in person to pay a EURO20 deposit as you will have to wait a day or two for your boat (we went on Sunday and they had one boat left for Monday). We bought snorkelling gear from Skala and took food and drink to put in the ice box the boat company supplied. All day on our own beach, only accessible from the water.....fantastic! We even spotted a Loggerhead turtle at sea on the way back! Most of the roads are small and twist up and down steep hills. The villages feel unspoilt and unhurried. We traveled the whole island including the local car ferry across to the peninsula (EURO8.50 for a car and two passengers) and the views were spectacular. Take binoculars.

This was our second holiday with Solmar Villas and in Lakithra and once again we were not disappointed. The area is beautiful, with the sea one side and the mountains the other, plus it is only 10 minutes drive to Argostoli or Lassi. The villa and pool are excellent, well maintained and the standard of cleanliness and service throughout our stay was second to none. The owner contacted us while we were there and quickly rectified the only comment we had made - the grass was very long - within hours a gardener had arrived to mow the lawn and trim the surrounding bushes. We thoroughly recommend the patisserie in the village and the best supermarket (in our opinion) is AB. Also we loved eating in the square in Argostoli which has very easy parking and the walks along the harbour are beautiful, especially if you get the chance to see the resident turtles. Lassi has many lovely restaurants too, we enjoyed Blue Sky and The Butlers Pantry. A car is highly recommended to explore this beautiful island. A drive to Agia Effimia and nearby Sami is well worth it - although the precarious roads take some nerves!

Rated: Good. The villa is in a quiet location with beautiful sea views. Every so often a plane takes off or lands but this is not intrusive. The housekeeping service was very attentive, sorting out any little problems very promptly and keeping the villa and pool clean and tidy. Lakithra has a lovely bakery and cake shop and a number of very good taverna's that serve good food. It is well placed for transfers from the airport but a hire car is almost an essential to be able to reach beaches and places of interest.
