Katouna is a very beautiful village set in a slightly elevated position, affording spectacular sea views down over the nearby beach of Ligia.

There is a small traditional taverna in the village and a colourful and charismatic village square where the locals sit under the shade of the plain trees on the hot summer evenings playing backgammon whilst sipping a refreshment, and the children play happily in this mostly traffic free space.

The coastal village of Ligia, (1.5km) boasts some of the finest fish tavernas on the island plus a number of mini markets, bakeries and shops. Katouna truly is in a privileged location, being almost equidistant from both Lefkas town and Nidri, where a vast array of shops and an eclectic choice of restaurants can be found. For those who enjoy walking, painting or just whiling away their time, then Katouna is a perfect village to visit.
