Mastihari is as peaceful as it can get, an off-the-beaten-track fishing village nestled on a sun-kissed western corner of Kos. Located just a 10-minute drive from the airport, the fun can start almost as soon as you land. Holidays here are about two things – sunbathing and kitesurfing. The long sand beach gently shelves into the warm waters, where pedalos share space with the kite surfers. When you’re not attempting to skim across the waves or relaxing on the sand, sip beers overlooking the sunset at one of the beach bars. Made up of just a handful of quaint streets with a few shops and old-style tavernas, life here is wonderfully laid-back. Its well-known for its super-fresh seafood, which goes straight from the harbour to your plate, as well as their relaxed bar scene.
