At the very southernmost tip of Kefalonia island a popular beach resort has grown up around the charming village of Skala.

The main attraction of this area was the endless expanse of stunning sand beach, but the village centre – now offering a varied choice of tavernas, mini markets, shops and cafe’s has grown with the addition of some rather chic restaurants and bars along the beach front and several “boutique” hotels.

A walk up into the hills behind Skala brings you back to another era as you explore the ruins of the old village destroyed in the earthquake in the last century. Skala has become probably the most “sought after” holiday resort on Kefalonia in recent years – and it’s easy to see why.

We stayed in Villa ventura for 10 days in October. From start to finish we had an amazing time. The villa was perfect in every way! Spacious, clean and well equipped. We loved how private it was, the gardens surrounding it are beautiful and the pool is a great bonus. With it being October it wasn't as hot so the pool was a little chilly but still useable. We loved waking up every morning to the beautiful sea views and peace and quiet. It's located about a 10 minute drive from Skala town so a car is advisable. The beach is a short walk across the road and there is a lovely little harbour just across the road too. The villa is equipped with everything you need pots, pans cutlery etc. There was also plenty of towels. The rooms were bright fresh and comfortable. We loved this villa so much we have already booked again for next year.

Villa ventura is absolutely beautiful and in a stunning location. Everything you need is in the villa. The outside is surrounded by beautiful gardens, a sea view, with a gorgeous pool. A lovely shaded area is perfect for alfresco dining. What more could you want. It’s in walking distance to restaurants, shops and supermarkets but on hot days too much to walk back, so taxis were easy to get. We didn’t have car, but felt we didn’t really need one as we were going to relax. We booked boat trips, and they picked us up and brought us back to the hotel next door. So we would highly recommend this villa, we loved it so much we tried to book it again but sadly was already booked

Villa Ventura is situated approx. half a mile outside Skala so a car is highly recommended for getting to the beaches and restaurants. The villa is spacious, well equipped and well maintained. The pool was beautifully clean the whole time we were there. The owner, Costas, lives directly behind Villa Ventura and is very welcoming. There are beautiful sea views and sun rises in this peaceful location and we would highly recommend it.

To access the villa there is a path which is 130cm wide. The front door has a width of 90cm, whilst the door to the terrace is 130cm wide. The terrace is open with non slip crazy paved tiles, which can be uneven in places. The pool itself has ladder access. This is a ground-floor property. All bedrooms have a door width of 90cm, whilst all bathrooms have a door width of 90cm. The door into the kitchen/dining area is 90cm wide and the door into the lounge area is also 90cm wide. *Please note that although every effort has been made to ensure the information provided is accurate, errors can occur and if you need to find out more specific information about the villa, please do not hesitate to contact us.
