Bathrooms need to be refurbished - bath and WC in en-suite both heavily stained. No hot water on arrival - took us a while to realise the switch to turn on hot water is in en-suite. Just enough hot water for 2 showers and then you have to wait for it to heat up again - not good in a villa that sleeps 8. In kitchen oven is falling apart inside and general kitchen equipment lacking or broken. No instructions on use of TV. Unpleasant smell in utility room. My daughter and her family occupied the upper floor bedrooms and my husband and I used the downstairs bedroom. The beds were really comfortable. Everything in the villa was of a very high standard and you could tell that a lot of thought had been put into it. However the overriding feature was the views. Wherever you were in the villa and particularly from the infinity pool, the views were spectacular. We met the owner.when the pool was cleaned and she was lovely. It wasn't a problem for us but the villa was located along anicely out of the way track, but this only added to.its appeal. No traffic or people noise!! We found the villa to be very clean and well equipped. The villa was decorated to a high standard with close attention to detail. The outdoor kitchen area was also very clean and we found ourselves using this area a lot. Any queries we had were promptly dealt with by the Solmar representative and the villa owner himself. Villa location handy for trips up to Frigiliana, which we can highly recommend. Also a visit to the Balcon de Europa is a must. Yes, it is slightly tired and showing some signs of wear and tear but for our family it scored 8 or 9 out of 10 on every metric we could think of which is fantastic. We think the brochure underplays the enormous size of the property and the number of private spots that members of the group can use if they want a little bit of privacy. Everything worked, which is a first in our experience of villas and it was relatively clean and well appointed. We had excellent weather and spent most of the time outside, but even had it rained we feel there was sufficient space inside to fully occupy us, in particular the games room. The local shops and the beach were closer than we expected and the resort and immediate surroundings were of a higher quality than the brochure intimated. Spacious, comfortable, quiet and very presentable and in a good location. A pleasant amble of 20 minutes to walk into Alcudia Old Town with it`s myriad of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops to wonder around at any time enjoying the atmosphere and local wines. Also an 8 minute or so drive into Port Pollenca with all it has to offer.
