If you love the idea of a beautiful retreat, set in large private grounds with a long driveway and electronic gates, this could be the perfect house for your holiday.

Snuggled into the olive groves just 100 metres off the main Paleokastritsa road, Secret Paradise sits in over 2 acres of land and garden filled with olive and fruit trees. Beautiful views over the entire area are available towards the mountains, behind to the north and across rolling cypress clad hillsides to the west and south, for as far as you can see. The area around the house and pool is lawned.

Even better, you can walk up a quiet road to the traditional village of Doukades (about 15 minutes uphill on the way, less coming home) where you will find traditional tavernas and a minimarket lining the village square, take a torch to walk home at night. If you don’t fancy walking its five minutes by car.

Alternatively a few minutes drive will take you to Liapades beach on the west coast, or down to the resort of Paleokastitsa, the best known beauty spot on Corfu with a wealth of restaurants, bars, shops and gorgeous bays; safe in the knowledge that you can then head back to the peace of your villa at the end of the day.

This lovely Corfu holiday villa is made up of a main house, all on ground floor level with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large family kitchen with breakfast table and chairs, with patio doors to a garden/patio and a large family living room with TV ( OteTV system). Some of the bedrooms in the main house have patio doors leading out to the terrace, garden and pool area, furnished with small tables and chairs, as well as a comfy sofa and armchairs. A separate annex building offers a further two bedrooms, shower room, sitting area and kitchenette. Simply furnished, this could be ideal for teenage children or a young couple and friends staying with the main party or even a nanny, who would like a bit of privacy. The TV in the annex is connected to a DVD player and games console.

The main outdoor dining area is on the front terrace, covered for shade, but there is also a covered built-in barbecue with large marble table for 10 which enjoys the wonderful views.

The pool is teardrop shaped and accessed by roman steps – very generous size with a paved terrace, the lawn on two sides offers plenty of room for sunbathing. In addition, other garden areas offer quiet shady spots to sit, table tennis, covered parking and an outdoor shower. Outside you will also find a children's play area specially adapted with play for toddlers and small children including a swing, slide climbing frame and house.

All in all an ideal house for a large extended family holiday, or a group of friends. You will find it hard to drag yourselves away from this lovely spot.

Paleo (as it is known for short) is home to a selection of pretty tavernas, cafes and craft shops and is surrounded by beautiful wooded hillsides. Its many headlands and stunning bays are said to be the place where Odysseus met Nausicaa for the first time, and the ancient monastery of Theotokos dating back to 1225 is well worth a visit.

Paleokastritsa is well-known centre for diving and snorkeling, perfect for those seeking a taste of adventure. Boats regularly leave from Paleo to explore the sea caves, crystal clear waters and remote beaches along the spectacular coastline.

Villa Secret Paradise is one of the most beautiful places I have been to in a long time and it's perfectly situated in Doukades, not too far from Paleokastritsa! There is so much for families to do here, the infinity pool, the climbing frames and park set, the outdoor BBQ and table tennis, and the house is stunning. It is so quiet and peaceful here, I am thinking about booking here every year.

Absolutely loved this villa. It was clean, spacious and provided lots of little extra touches that we really appreciated. Rooms were bright and airy and each had its own colour scheme - so not all beige and bland. There were only 2 of us so we didn't use the annex but again clean and tidy, though maybe not as nice as the main house. The views of the mountains were amazing and when we were there it was lovely and peaceful. Must admit that when we first turned off the main road and started up the woodland track to the property I did feel a bit of trepidation, but this quickly disappeared once we arrived- would definitely return. Car essential.

We booked villa secret paradise for a large family party of 3 generations. Lovely villa in a beautiful picturesque setting. Villa was well equipped and very clean. Beautiful pool and plenty of sunbeds and outdoor seating to accommodate all guests. Sofia was lovely and accommodating, lovely touch of essentials such as bread, milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine on arrival. Would recommend to any large party looking for a stunning quiet location.

The front door has a width of 85cm and other doors that access the outdoor area is through the bedrooms to the pool terrace which is 110cm wide. Paths from the villa to the pool area is 90cm wide, the grounds are even and the pool has roman steps to enter. The widest bedroom door on the ground floor is 79cm wide and the widest bathroom door on the ground floor is 69cm wide.
