Halikounas is the perfect destination for those after a peaceful Greek getaway, surrounded by the sublime Corfiot countryside with olive-clad hillsides, citrus orchards, beautiful vineyards, and quiet beaches at every turn. Perched by the famous Lake Korission, life here is laid-back and low-key, with just a modest spread of restaurants dotted along the coastal paths and tracks. The sandy beach stretches over three kilometres and is considered one of the most beautiful in the Ionian Islands. The variations in the coastal landscape are endless, with a verdant forest, a glistening lagoon, wild sand dunes and, above all, it is pristine and unspoilt. With regular wind from the north-western side, it’s a water sports haven for kite surfing and wind surfing.
Other sublime beaches, such as Prasoudi and Kanouli, can be reached within a few minutes’ drive. You’re in the perfect spot for resort hopping. Just a ten-minute drive away is the larger village of Agios Matheos, perfectly picturesque with a locally run mini-market, butcher, and bakery. For a taste of something busier, Corfu Town is a forty-minute drive away, where you can get lost in the labyrinth-like streets, filled with historic architecture, world-class museums, and a diverse gastronomic scene.

Only just booked holiday, but all good so far. Phoned for advice, call was answered quickly and query resolved. Booked online and there was an issue with flights not appearing on confirmation. Called again, picked up straight away and advised flights would be added manually on system. They appeared almost immediately with follow up email, so very impressed with service. Looking forward to holiday and receiving additional information from their ‘concierge service’. If the rest of the holiday process is as good as the initial booking, I’ll recommend without hesitation.

Managed to speak to someone quickly and they emailed information promptly and had listened to what I needed so service was good.. spoke to someone different the next day and all the information had been recorded so the conversation was easy . Biggest benefit was talking to a real person and not having to navigate lots of AI conversations /options .
The phone is answered quickly, staff are polite, helpful and knowledgeable. If you have a query they are always happy to help or sort any problems. We would definitely recommend Solmar.

To access the villa there is a path which is 110cm wide leading to 1 step to the front door, the front door is 86cm wide. The lounge and kitchen/dining rooms have wide open passageways. To access the pool/terrace area there is a door that is 110cm wide. The grounds around the pool are grassed, however it is flat. The pool has a ladder, there are no steps. The ground-floor bedroom doors are 80cm wide and the ground-floor bathroom doors are 60cm wide, the bathroom is a shower/bath type. There are 12 steps leading to the first floor.
