Dassia is a popular seaside village located a short distance from the islands capital, Corfu Town and relatively close to other popular seaside villages along the north east coastline such as Barbati, Nissaki, Kalami, Ag Stephanos and Kassiopi.

With a fine selection of seafood and cosmopolitan restaurants, a couple of bakeries and numerous shops and mini markets, Dassia literally has everything you require for a comfortable and peaceful stay. The lovely stretch of beach is also extremely popular for families with young children, thanks to the gently shelving shoreline and the number of beachfront cafés and tavernas.

As well as the regular bus service into the islands capital, there are regular daily boat trips heading into town, as well as along the rugged coastline to Kassiopi, stopping in the gorgeous bays of Agni, Kerasia and Aghios Stephanos along the way.

A very well appointed villa sleeping 8 comfortably and has a good sized pool. A few early issues were identified and resolved quickly by either Solmar or villa owner. Villa is away from any hustle and bustle but within easy reach of shops, cafes, restaurants, beaches, bus routes and main roads to all areas of the island. I would say a car is essential. Recommended.

3 /5 is a little harsh but based on previous villlas, there are lots of small improvements to be made. The villa itself is beautiful and very large. Lovely sized rooms, with a fab sized pool that all can enjoy. I think the owner said he built this himself, so he must be proud. . . But he needs to update the facilities provided for it to be considered a good / excellent villa. I read a lot of previous reviews which stated that the owner turns up rather frequently unannounced (this was daily!) and guests mentioned about issues with no hot water and poor internet. Sure enough we had the same issues (which Solmar did correct when pointed out to them). The pool wasnt cleaned (full of woodlice) during our stay, and the bed sheets had a huge food stain on them - the top blanket, the white sheets were clean. The sofa needed a thorough clean! Owner arrived at 7pm one evening in the middle of our children's dinner, to attend to the dishwasher with salt etc. This should be sorted prior to a guest arriving, not during the day. Some tweaks, and people will be raving about the property rather than being sidelined by the small issues.

The area where the villa is situated is hilly and mountainous, to access the villa the front door is 80cm wide. The lounge and kitchen/dining room have wide open passageways. To access the pool/terrace area there is a door which is 80cm wide. The grounds around the pool are flat but there is a slight slope to access the pool area. The pool has steps, there is no handrail. The ground floor bedroom and bathroom doors are both 80cm wide, the ground floor bathroom is a shower type. There are 17 steps leading to the first floor.
