Villa Colina

Fantastic villa, our family loved it. The only slight comment to make is that i think they need some new furniture around the patio table and sunbed covers which were tired but overall clean and well looked after. Would recommend .

We stayed at Villa Colina, Playa Blanca, for 14 nights. The villa itself was modern and entirely suitable for our party of 8 adults. The kitchen was well equipped to cook meals, which we did on a number of occasions. There is also a brick BBQ adjacent to the seating area which we also used twice to good affect. The pool is of a decent size and was regularly maintained during our visit. Given the distance from Playa Blanca a hire car is really a must. The reason for 4 stars is as follows. The air-conditioning would only run for approximately 30 minutes at a time. Should you want more cooling you had to flick a switch by the front door every 30 minutes, which was very tedious at night time, to say the least. One room had a faulty air-con unit that blew mainly warm air. Dealing with the property manager, who was generally very helpful, she offered fans as a means to alleviate the problem, but they never arrived during our stay. The handles on a number of internal doors failed and needed a handy man visit on 2 occasions to try and repair without much effect. They were all going to be replaced after we left. Maintenance issues aside our real frustration with the villa was a failure to advertise the fact that it was situated in a mixed residential/holiday villa area. As such the house rules, which we read on arrival stated and I quote 'Respect your neighbours, no parties, loud music, or outside socialising after 9.00pm'. We were a family group and had no intention of having loud parties thru to the early hours but equally on nights when we didn't venture into town, we certainly wanted to sit outside and socialise after 9.00pm. To make no mention of this fact in literature before booking is frankly criminal, given what we were paying to stay. We had a nice holiday but I personally would not stay there again.
