Pretty as a picture, this salmon and cornflower blue hideaway rests on a hillside close to Avithos beach in Kefalonia. Lush, emerald countryside gives way to sun kissed sands and azure sea ahead.

The villa’s swimming pool is fringed with poolside loungers and a massive open BBQ, your life in the sun is set. One of the highlights of this four-bedroomed villa are the upper outdoor patios, opening out from three of the bedrooms. See breath-taking views over the vineyards and lush countryside with sloping hills, dotted with traditional Greek homes. There is also a excellent garden with large lawn area, colourful flower beds and fantastic sea views.

Indoors, the lower floor bedroom has its own private courtyard with breakfast table set up. Capable of housing a total of eight adults, with four bathrooms this villa is perfect for families and groups of friends. There is a fitted kitchen and cosy lounge to enjoy a relaxing chill at the end of the day.

Kefalonia sprung to fame when Captain Corelli’s Mandolin was filmed there. Showing off the island’s pretty pastel homes, forest pined bays and golden stretches of beach, it’s favoured by those who prefer a relaxed pace of life. If you’re a foodie, try Kefalonia’s speciality, a Kreatopita, which is a baked pastry with meat, garlic, potatoes and spices. Delicious!

To access the villa there is a path which is 250cm wide which leads to the villa itself. The front door has a width of 85cm and other doors that access the pool area are 250cm wide. Paths from the villa to the pool area are 250cm wide, the grounds are flat and the pool has roman steps to enter. The widest bedroom door on the ground floor is 78cm wide which is the twin room and the widest bathroom door on the ground floor is 62cm wide. Resort Description

Avithos is the ideal choice for your Greek Island holiday if you are looking for fabulous beaches, great tavernas, beautiful coastal and mountain scenery, easy walking on quiet country lanes but still just a short drive to the island's capital.

Situated on the southern coast of Kefalonia, just a few kilometres from the airport and Argostoli, Ai Avithos is located in the area known locally as Leivathos – made up of picturesque villages and some gorgeous sandy beaches. There are also a good few attractions in this area such as the Castle of St.George, atop its acropolis and offering superb views all over the area – well worth a visit as is the Monastery of St. Andreas.

Avithos beach is a long strip of sand, with some shingle or stones depending on the weather of the previous winter – looking out to the tiny islet of Zeus and backed by two excellent tavernas where locally delicacies and fresh fish can be enjoyed. The beach itself offers a super beach bar with snacks, cold drinks and coffees, and comfortable sunbeds are available to rent. The village of Svoronata – just a 15 minute walk from Avithos offers more restaurants, a couple of bars, a petrol station and the local minimarket so all necessities are close to hand. Even the local “drive in” in supermarkets are all within a short drive of this area, but once back at your villa all is peace and quiet whilst you just enjoy the wonderful views!
