Found at the end of Eucalyptus Road (built by the Italians), Kolymbia is a peaceful resort and is home to one of the most beautiful beaches of the island.

It is a small natural bay located in the eastern coast of the island and offers plenty of sunbeds, umbrellas and a selection of water sports. In the village centre you will find an opulent variety of souvenir shops, local tavern’s and bars. There are some hidden gems to be discovered in Kolymbia such as a headland walk which offers unobstructed views across the bay. Kolymbia is one of the best locations of the island to explore both Rhodes Town and Lindos.

The villa is very nice and has fabulous outdoor space - large garden, great swimming pool and plenty of outdoor furniture, even an outdoor kitchen and two barbecues. There are a few negatives though. The bathrooms were a major let down. They are tiny - I would suggest less than 5ft x 4ft. You could not turn around in the shower and the water went everywhere. The plain smooth concrete finish was reminiscent of a camping site toilet block. Sorry, but not what I expect when paying this sort of price. The garden gate was on its last legs and is indicative of maintenance cost savings being made. A sign on the gate giving the name of the villa would also be very helpful when arriving and trying to find it. The proximity of so many all inclusive hotels means that there are few restaurants in the town. We did though find two wonderful restaurants about 150 yards away from the villa on the road in. Definitely worth a visit and inexpensive by UK standards. The small Italian restaurant behind the car hire depot on the right on the way into the town was also - despite its appearance - absolutely wonderful.

The area where the villa is situated is fairly hilly and mountainous. To access the villa there is a path which is 90cm wide, leading to 3 steps to the front door, the front door is 97cm wide. The lounge and kitchen/dining room doors are 88cm wide. To access the pool/terrace area there is a door which is 100cm wide, there is a step down from the terrace to the pool area, the path to the pool is 97cm wide. The pool/terrace grounds are flat, tiled and even, the garden grounds are grassed, even and surrounded by mature trees and shrubbery. The pool has steps. There are 7 steps leading to the first floor level. The bedroom doors are 79cm wide and the main bathroom door is 67cm wide, this is a shower type bathroom.
