More Information about Croatia

Although Croatia boasts an abundance of interesting places to visit, by far the most popular place to visit is the UNESCO world Heritage site of Dubrovnik. This really is one of the most strikingly beautiful old towns we have ever visited; walking along the ancient walls provides you with innumerate opportunities to capture the perfect photograph, and for painters, a stroll along the ancient walls will provide you with enough inspiration to sketch for days and weeks on end.

There are many daily flights from most regional airports in the UK which fly directly into Dubrovnik international airport

The island of Hvar is very easy to reach, we recommend booking flights to Split, then arranging a transfer from Split airport over to the island of Hvar. The transfer time from Split airport to the harbour takes less than 30 minutes, and the ferry over to the island of Hvar can take either 1 hour, for the fast ferry direct into Hvar Town or 2 hours to the ferry port of Stari Grad, a 20 minute car journey from Hvar Old Town. The island of Hvar has become one of Europe’s ‘hot-spots’, where celebrities and the high society like to visit, and be seen! Securing accommodation on this increasingly popular island is becoming more difficult every year, so we strongly recommend that you book early for your Villa Holiday on Hvar. As well as being the perfect place to people watch, and soak up the sun, atmosphere and the ambiance, there is also a plethora of fabulous beaches to explore, especially by boat, as the intriguing and beautiful nearby Pakleni islands boast more than their fair share of stunningly gorgeous beaches and coves.

Another of Croatia’s little gems is the spectacular island of Brac. Similar to its gorgeous neighbour, Hvar, Brac has a profusion of delightful coves and beaches, and one of the most photogenic coastlines of all the islands we have visited. We were particular smitten by the villages of Sumartin, Milna, Povlja and Lozisca, hence why we have concentrated in featuring our portfolio of fabulous villas in these attractive and utterly charming villages. The views, the ambiance, the friendly locals and fresh produce served in the local restaurants make the island of Brac one of our favourites.

The island of Brac is very easy to reach, we recommend booking flights to Split, then arranging a transfer from Split airport over to the island of Brac. The transfer time from Split airport to the harbour takes less than 30 minutes, and the ferry over to the island of Brac takes 1 hour, the ferry arrives into the port of Supetar, and all of our featured villas are easily reached within 30 minutes either by hire car, or by a taxi transfer.
