Villa Lizar Overview
It is rare to find a villa within in walking distance of the amenities Frigiliana has to offer, this villa really does maximise the incredible views afforded of the valley below. Imagine gorgeous Spanish countryside as far as the eye can see. Avocado trees and tiny rooftops of the nearby village, Frigiliana are dotted about the rustic countryside, offering up a peaceful view from the villa.
With three bedrooms, capable of accommodating up to six guests, Villa Lizar is a firm favourite for families and friends. Designed as a traditional Spanish home, the villa is constructed on one floor with whitewashed walls. Blending into its natural surroundings, it is perfectly positioned, overlooking that spectacular view.
At the foot of the villa there is lap pool and surrounding sun lounge area. The villa is elevated above that, atop a natural stone wall. A deck surrounding the property has ample room for al fresco dining under a parasol. An additional al fresco dining table and chairs sits under a delightful pergola, which is covered in foliage.
Enter through Spanish, wooden doors into a quaint interior, with pebble stone flooring and white walls. A bright red and white, glossy kitchen adds a contemporary twist. There are three bedrooms, two of which overlook beautiful views.
The lovely village of Frigiliana is only a ten-minute stroll away. It’s a town of white, Spanish homes, cobbled streets and tapas bars. For lovers of the sea, Burriana beach in nearby Nerja is only a fifteen-minute drive away.

This villa is in an exceptionally hilly/mountainous area. To access the villa there is a path which is 240cm wide which leads up to the villa itself. The front door has a width of 128cm and other doors that access the pool area is the terrace door which is 127cm wide. To get to the pool from the villa there is a staircase, the ground is uneven and the pool has roman steps to enter. There is a step from the villa to the garden and there are steps to the terrace. The widest bedroom door on the ground floor is 80cm wide which can be either the double room or one of the two twin rooms. The widest bathroom door on the ground floor is 80cm wide. Resort Description
Known also as the white village, Frigiliana sits high upon a mountain ridge, right above the beautiful resort town of Nerja. Embroiled in a labyrinth of steep cobbled footpaths, narrow winding streets and traditional whitewashed houses, it’s no wonder that it was voted the 'prettiest village in Andalucia' by the Spanish tourism authority.
Two sections make up Frigiliana; The newer, lower section and the older Morisco-Mudéjar neighbourhood which makes up the upper section. Steeped in history and authenticity the upper section is certainly the main attraction. Here you’ll be taken back in time to Moorish lands and a selection of decorative floor mosaics tell a tale which goes as far back as the 8th century!
With a great selection of bars and authentic restaurants serving tasty Spanish dishes and offering stunning views whilst you dine, Frigiliana really is a paradise for those looking for a more traditional atmosphere rather than a resort. However, if you fancy the best of both worlds; a 15 minute drive takes you down to Nerja, where you can visit the blue-flag Burriana Beach and various other attractions here.

Villa Lizar is a beautiful traditional Spanish villa with amazing views over Frigiliana and Nerja towards the sea. It was extremely clean and we settled in very quickly. The location is very peaceful although the single track access road is not for the faint hearted! Frigiliana is an unspoilt Spanish village with plenty of restaurants to choose from within a 15 minute walk (there is a path down to the village opposite the small reservoir).

Areas to sit or enjoy at any time of the day, including cool refreshing pool, cool breakfast area, lovely big Tree to have morning cuppa under, great outdoor bbq and eating area with outstanding views in all directions, visited often by donkeys and goats as well as two friendly cats. Car essential, travel up to villa a bit scary recommend that the driver only keeps their eyes open. Excellent emenities in Frigiliana well looked after superbly clean town. Sometimes heard neighbour below, raised voice. Overall would definitely return wonderfull week away fabulous views relaxing place to be.

Villa ideally placed at the top of a hill. The view is beautiful. The house / equipment / decoration are really good. The access is a little difficult by car, but it is generally the case for all the villas a little isolated from the region. The tranquility is just sometimes disturbed by holidaymakers visiting the ruins of a tower located just above the property or by the proximity of a small apartment just next to the pool below. The frame in nature is very beautiful. Surprise visit of several chamois with their baby one morning in the property: magic moment for all nature lovers.

Great Villa with spectacular views. If its piece and quiet you want then this the perfect retreat. Facilities are good, pool area is a sun trap and terraces are in abundance so you can always be in the sun or shade all day. Frigiliana is beautiful and will take 15 mins to walk (we found a short cut rather than the long road way. It is steep but the the walk down is OK, the walk back up is a little harder! Some taxi's will take you back some don't like the track and refuse. Overall, we would definitely come back to the Villa and area.

Villa Lizar it utterly wonderful. A car is a must, which is a shame as I like to walk to the town for dinner/drinks. However, this is a small price to pay for a lovely villa with the most amazing views. Loved every second of our stay.

Villa is located in the most beautiful location with wonderful views across the valley and the the village of Frigiliana. There is lots of space and always options for sun or shade and the pool is very private. We had a wonderful relaxing time and would go again.

At the villa there were a variety of sitting areas some sunny others shady but all had amazing views over the hills and Frigiliana to the sea. Good pool, table tennis, and built in BBQ. Interior as in pictures. Frigiliana is a beautiful white mountain village. Lovely cobbled streets with little shops and restaurants dotted about. Short taxi ride into Nerja for the beach.

Excellent, recently modernised Cortijo overlooking the pretty town of Frigilliana. All electric so no gas bottles to worry about. Good water pressure and great showers. Plenty of cups, glasses, utensils etc. Good internet wifi most of the time from the villas own router and good mobile signal and 3g too if you want to use it. You have your very own Mirador just outside the door, and a great view to Nerja and the Sea too. Beautiful plants and an area with shade, nice sun spot with pool on lower terrace. Fun drive up the track to the house but not for the faint hearted. We are used to these Andalucian tracks and enjoy the challenge and the great villas at the end of them.

Having just returned from Villa Lizar, we rebooked straight away as this place is amazing, having stayed in villas 7 times in and around Nerja this is certainly the best , standing on its own high above Frigiliana with views to give the wow factor every time you walk in the grounds , beautiful pool and plenty of outdoor seating for relaxing, the bedrooms were very comfortable and the whole house was spotless , a well appointed kitchen and large living room made the stay wonderful, the only thing that may be a problem for nervous drivers is the hill climb up to the villa , 3 of our party found it a bit scary and said theres no way they would drive as it's 1st gear and tight corners with nothing in places only the sheer drop , and the walk down to Frigiliana and back up again would not suit anyone with walking problems , we usually book directly with owners but after the deal we were offered and the professional way the staff operate at Solmar they will always be our first choice when looking for another villa , many thanks to Kate and her colleagues from 6 happy travelers.
