Villa Simoes Overview
With a selection of restaurants, shops and café’s nearby, along with the magnificent sandy Gale beach (less than 500m) the location of Villa Simoes is amongst our best in the Algarve. Sitting proudly amongst villas of similar stature, this modern villa is an excellent choice for keeping car use to a minimum.
Both inside and out there is no shortage of space in which to relax, all rooms being bright and welcoming. Patio doors lead out of the living room to the sunny terrace overlooking the pool, steps from here lead you down to the alfresco dining area, brick-built barbecue and inviting private swimming pool. A most delightful spot to enjoy a welcoming sun downer at the end of a gruelling day in the sun!
While there may be no need to use the car, do take time to explore further afield, Albufeira with its eclectic selection of shops, restaurants and café bars is less than a fifteen minute bus ride away, and the other fabulous sandy beaches either side of Gale can be reached by foot.

Resort Description
A sweeping three miles stretch of perfectly manicured golden sand dominates this part of the Portuguese coastline, and is backed by dramatic limestone cliffs making it one of the Algarve's most picturesque resorts. Gale beach (or Praia de Gale) is suitable for all ages, with calming waters ideal for paddling on some days, and on others there are stronger waves making water sports a great option. Our villas in Gale are within easy reach of the beach, whilst the vibrant town of Albufeira is just a short drive away.

Unfortunately we found this villa very disappointing. It was in a great location but the villa itself was sadly lacking. None of the rooms looked the same as the photos. The leather sofas in the lounge had been replaced with the most uncomfortable sofas. The depth of the base was so narrow that I as a 5 feet 3 woman felt to big for them let alone my husband. The only way to use them was to lie down on them. For some reason someone had decided to paint white patches on the dining room and kitchen furniture. I assume it was meant to look whitewashed but it looked like a child had been let loose with white paint. The pictures on the walls had been replaced with framed pieces of wallpaper. None of the bedrooms had the vibrant colours of the photos instead everything is now beige. The beds were the most uncomfortable we’ve every slept on. We were constantly waking in the night to turn over due to the pain we were in. The outside level where the pool is has no lighting so means that you can’t sit there on an evening for a drink or even have a b-b-q after around 7 in October as it becomes too dark. This is a real shame and massively effected our evening enjoyment. The lack of lighting also is a problem if you hire a car which needs to be parked outside the back gates as you then have to walk around to the front door up steps using the torch on your phone to see where you’re going. There are also spikes on the top of the gate next to the b-b-q that would be very dangerous if someone fell on them. My husband cut his arm on them when he slipped on the steps next to them due to it being dark and he missed a stroke. We also found that the washing machine doesn’t spin so everything comes out dripping wet. Overall this villa gives the impression of one that has been fitted out as cheaply as possible and anything that isn’t a vital to be able to rent it is missing.

Very spacious, clean, lovely decor and a very short walk to the supermarket. Also very close to the beach and local restaurants. Cleaners allowed us to leave our luggage inside as we had a morning flight.

Great location, villa was perfect for beach shops and restaurants, it was very clean and spacious, pool and pool area was great, clean towels mid week was a bonus . if I had to say anything negative about the villa, it would be , to say it would have been nice to have a few compliantly Items , such as a bottle of water, salt, oil, sugar and soap, having said this we all had a great holiday

The standard of accommodation is always excellent and villa Simoes was in an ideal situation for beach and Apolonia supermarket, the only thing I wasn't keen on was the steps down to the pool would prefer to walk straight out to pool area

It was a great sized villa, clean and bright. The Villa Rep was excellent, very helpful and friendly. Area was very quiet in April when we went on holiday (which was perfect for us). Only a short walk from the beach (approx. 7-10mins), with lovely restaurants to watch stunning sunsets. 10mins by cab to Albufeira only 10EUR approx., if you want to see either the lovely old town or party harder in the new town/strip area. Everyone was very friendly. Would definitely return.

The house was clean and spacious and the balconies were wonderful. The close proximity to the excellent quality shop was fantastic but the best thing was the local beach. Just beautiful. Chilling out at the bar was really special. The restaurant at the beach was also fantastic in every way. Excellent value for money and excellent service.

Rated: Good Great villa, great area and ideally situated within easy walk to the fabulous 5km beach (less than 10 mins). Everything you need in a villa (apart from beach towels) and no car needed. Split level which is nice for two families sharing and very close to the well stocked supermarket and a selection of walkable restaurants. We also ate at the bar on the beach, which was excellent. Great weather too!

Rated Excellent. Villa was very child friendly, with gates on all stairs. Villa situated very close to the beach, about 7-10 min walk, supermarket- 2 min. Solmar Villas organised everything perfectly, we didn't need to contact anyone. We got all instructions in the package. In total we really enjoyed our time in Portugal, weather was great, beach was not busy.
