We know that you might be feeling uncertain about booking your next holiday with the ever-changing travel restrictions, which is why we've introduced our Travel Restrictions Guarantee for your peace of mind.
Book your next villa holiday with confidence, safe in the knowledge that you can either move your dates or receive a holiday voucher for the full amount paid if your travel dates are restricted by either FCDO/local government advice advice or local restrictions in your destination country.*
The Travel Restrictions Guarantee is automatically included in the website price and can be removed before you book, however we strongly advise you keep it to give you added flexibility and protection.
You will still need to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy as soon as your booking is confirmed. This insurance should, as a minimum, protect you against cancellation, curtailment, medical expenses, loss/theft of possessions and documents, personal liability and airline failure.
Terms and Conditions
'Travel Restrictions Guarantee' applies to bookings for arrival between 1st May 2021 and 31st December 2021 only.
If there are restrictions advising against travel to your chosen destination country, you will be able to cancel your villa and receive a holiday voucher for the full amount paid for your villa to rebook when you are ready to do so.
If there are restrictions in your destination country preventing you from being able to travel to that destination, you will be able to cancel your villa and receive a voucher for the full amount paid for your villa to rebook when you are ready to do so.
'Travel Restrictions Guarantee' is automatically included in the search results price on the solmarvillas.com website.
The premium paid for 'Travel Restrictions Guarantee' is non-commissionable.
The premium can be removed from the basket if not required. If removed during booking, you still have 7 days from confirmation to add this back on if needed.
For bookings made less than 6 weeks before arrival, this premium can't be added or removed after booking.
The 'Travel Restrictions Guarantee' is non-refundable, non-transferable and non-commissionable.

Nestled on the tranquil outskirts of the village of Qala, this pretty stone farmhouse offers an idyllic setting to escape the crowds during a villa holiday in Gozo. A wonderful hallway leads guests through a stone archway into the open plan kitchen, dining and living area with abundant natural daylight. From here there is access to the courtyard-style garden, with panoramas of the surrounding countryside. The inviting private swimming pool surrounded with indulgent loungers is set within a walled sunbathing terrace for added privacy, while a barbecue and dining furniture make the most of alfresco living. On the ground floor attached to the living area is the first spacious double bedroom with ensuite facilities and a separate bathroom.
The first floor is equipped with two ensuite bedrooms and a spiral staircase leading to the top floor, which features a small room with a sofa, writing desk and sizeable terrace with outstanding views of southern Gozo’s vast countryside. The closest restaurants to the property can be found in Qala’s main square, which becomes a hub of activity in the evenings when locals and tourists visit from all over Gozo and Malta. Don’t miss a visit to Hondoq ir-Rummien whilst in the area; it is considered one of the most beautiful areas in Gozo with spectacular views of Comino Island and crystal-clear waters surrounded by natural caves.

The quiet village of Qala (pronounced 'a-la') is one of the oldest areas on the idyllic island of Gozo. Situated on the easternmost part of the island and surrounded by countryside, guests on a villa holiday here can expect many natural and historic attractions.
Qala is well-known with locals for its natural gem, Hondoq ir-Rummien, a popular swimming cove with a sliver of sand. The rest of the coastline is largely rocky, where rock-cut saltpans form pretty caves with crystal-clear waters – great for snorkelling. One of the prettiest caves is Għar Minka, only accessible by boat. Qala offers some wonderful rural walks, with stunning views across the sea to Comino and Malta. Search for the deep parallel tracks known as cart-ruts, which extend over 180 meters making them some of the longest in Gozo. Along the way, you may also stumble across a chapel known as Il-Madonna tal-Blat (Saint Mary of the Rocks) and historical defence towers. Other interesting things to see around Qala include the islands' best-preserved windmill, and even some prehistoric remains.
The social life in Qala revolves mostly around the village square, where a variety of restaurants and bars are open all year round. Every evening the square becomes the relaxing meeting place for locals and tourists alike, who visit from all over Gozo and Malta. Qala is also home to the largest traditional folk festival in the Maltese Islands, usually held in mid-September.
