The charming fishing village of Agios Nikitas retains much of its authentic appeal and is the only place at sea level on Lefkas' beautiful west coast. Surrounded by olive groves and lush green valleys, Agios Nikitas is the ideal setting for a leisurely, laid-back holiday and is home to pretty tavernas and a few shops and bars. The centre of the village is pedestrianised with parking available at the top, and a stoned-paved street taking you down to the harbour. The village is bordered by pristine sandy beaches which face crystal-clear waters. You can also hop on a small boat from here over to the nearby Milos beach. The island's capital, Lefkada Town, is a little over 10km away via a superb scenic road and provides excellent shopping opportunities.
