Villa Rocksalt Overview
If you’re looking to get away from it all, the one-of-a-kind Villa Rocksalt is a fantastic choice. Nuzzled within the natural beauty of the Istrian Peninsula, surrounded by the sprawling countryside in every direction. For miles and miles, you’ll see rows of lush woodland, pine-covered hills, fragrant vineyards, and olive groves. The ultimate spot for a relaxing getaway, nestled in the quiet village of Marcana, Villa Rocksalt is a true rural hideaway. If you fancy a little hustle and bustle, hop in the car to Pula, a beautiful seafront city bursting with scenic beaches, a vibrant gastronomic scene, an impressive amphitheatre and crumbling ancient ruins.
The glorious gardens are perfect for soaking up the tranquillity, with lush lawn fringing the wide stretch of patio. The gardens offer lots of space for children to play, as well as a trampoline, a swing set, and an eleven-metre swimming pool to make a splash in. You even have your own mini putting green, for those fancying a light game of golf. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to chill spots, with an outdoor sofa and plenty of loungers to unwind on and soak up the Croatian sun. Evenings at Villa Rocksalt are best spent under the veranda in the dining area, where you can grill up a feast on the barbecue and wind down with a few drinks.
The exteriors are a beautiful blend of modern luxe meets traditional Croatian farmhouse, with a striking straight-cut design, contemporary architecture, rustic stonework, and terracotta roofs. The open-plan living space is chic and stylish, with a simple and minimalist feel throughout the ground floor. The fresh white walls brighten up the space, whilst the beige leather sofas, oak dining table, and modern lighting fixtures add to the contemporary ambience. The kitchen is sleek and sophisticated, finished to a high standard with everything you’ll need to whip up a few meals. Across the villa, you’ll find four spacious bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Resort Description
Nestled on the southern tip of the peninsula lies Pula, the largest city in Istria which offers an enticing blend of Croatia’s modern buzz with the atmosphere of ancient Rome.
Uncover the wealth of Roman architecture throughout the city of Pula, with the well-preserved 1st century Roman Amphitheatre as the star attraction. Dominating the bustling streets of this lively Istrian city, the limestone-built amphitheatre, which originally hosted gladiatorial contests, is the ultimate venue for summer concerts and festivals and it can hold up to 20,000 spectators.
Pula offers a contrasting modern side too, with fantastic shopping opportunities, lively bars and an attractive marina.
The picturesque, horseshoe-shaped Pula Bay is the ideal spot to unwind by the Adriatic Sea, with pretty pebble stones backed by a rugged terrain. If you’re feeling adventurous, why not try snorkelling or diving? There are plenty of family holiday activities to try in Pula, and the city has great transport links to rest of Istria’s radiant region, including the breath-taking Brijuni Islands which can be accessed via a short boat trip from nearby Fažana.

The villa was exactly as described on the website, everything was clean, and we were welcomed by the owner who fully showed me around to describe how things work. We had a few minor problems, which are hardly worthwhile mentioning, but these were rectified very quickly by the owner via my communication on WhatsApp.

The villa is exceptional and one of the best villa holidays we have been on. The pictures do not do it justice!! We went as a group of 6 and found there was more than enough room for all of us and never once felt crowded. The villa was equipped with everything we needed and was spotless when we arrived. The owner met us there and showed us around (even let us check-in earlier as it was ready and recommended some local restaurants which were great). The pool was great and bigger than we thought it would be which was perfect with the heat we were lucky enough to have while there. We rented a couple of cars which I would say is a must have if you want to go further than the town you are in. There was 1 restaurant we found in the town but didn’t actually go there. There were some buses which went into Pula but we didn’t spot them until later in the week. We would all recommend this place and are already thinking about booking for another week next year.
