The reosrt of Playa Blanca is in the south of Lanzarote, only 33km from Arrecife Airport.
It was once a small fishing village and has now turned into a bustling port, it is the most recently developed tourist resort. Playa Blanca villa holidays are great for both families and couples.
The beaches in Playa Blanca make up the 9km stretch along the coast, there are three beaches, all safe and sandy. They are sheltered and ideal for sunbathing and swimming.
The Playa Blanca market is held at the new Marina Rubicon on a Wednesday and Saturday morning, with a good selection of clothes, jewellery and Lanzarote gifts. The market in Teguise on a Sunday is well worth the visit. They sell a whole variety of items are available for sale, all of the cobbles streets are filled with traders.
Playa Blanca Fiestas/Festivals
The carnival is held in Playa Blanca every year just before Easter, the main procession runs through the town and finishes in the main square. The local fiesta is held in July. They also celebrate Canary Day (Dia de Canaries) on the 30th May, this celebrates the day Lanzarote gained its independence from Spain.
There are plenty of things to do on your Playa Blanca villa holiday, from relaxing on the beach, to shopping in the new Marina Rubicon. There are plenty of watersports available on the beaches, including the Rubicon Dive Centre. There are also plenty of boat trips and excursions leaving from the port.
The Marina Rubicon has a harbour full of boats, surrounded by a selection of shops, exsquisite restaurants and lively bars. From a tennis or paddle tennis match to sailing, windsurfing or diving course, you can enjoy your favourite sport or learn something new in the impeccable facilities at the marina. Do some exercise, sign up for a fantastic trip on our 'Rubicat' catamaran, rent a kayak to explore the coast, relax beside the pool, or, just, browse in the boutiques, shops and art gallery along the promenade around the harbour.
Playa Blanca is the home to the Ferry between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, where there are 2 lines, leaving throughout the day.
Playa Blanca, although not a very historical place still has a few sites to see, Castillo de las Colarados and the lighthouse, Faro de Pechiguera.
Going further afield there are many attractions of Lanzarote that are worth a visit on your Playa Blanca villa holiday.
There is one water park in Lanzarote called AquaLanza, this is located next to the Golf Club in Costa Teguise. There is a wide range of slides and pools, making it ideal for a family day out. The aquapark comprises of attractions for all ages, including the ‘Kamikaze’, ‘Spiral’, ‘Fast-River’, a children’s swimming pool, restaurant area and souvenier shop.
Timanfaya National park is 50 km² of volcanic landscape, known as the fire mountains. The national park was built to protect the beauty of the volcanic landscape. Visiting the park will give you up, close views of the volcanoes and tell you the history of the volcanic island.
El Golfo is a crater created by a volcano, it has filled with sea water and the algae in the water has caused it to go a deep green colour. Los Hervideros means boiling waters, there are caves and holes where lava used to run.
El Jardin Del Cactus is a garden showing an impressive collection of Cacti, featuring well over 1000 species The restored windmill and strange metal sculptures make for an impressive contrast against the dry volcanic landscape.
Rancho Texas Theme Park – Enjoy the old wild west see wild animals and have a night to remember with country and western nights. Located just outside Puerto Del Carmen.

If you want to sample the local cuisine while on your villa holiday in Playa Blanca then head for the promenade. There are a huge variety of restaurants in along the promenade, overlooking the beach and harbour, views of the lights from Fuerteventura a great setting for your evening meal.
The nightlife in Playa Blanca is fairly limited, the entertainment is restricted to the shows organised by the hotels. There is a kids disco but those after something hardcore will need to head to Puerto del Carmen, half an hour away by car.
