There is a lot of history and landmarks to be viewed in the town.The town centre is also the main shopping zone for the local resorts, making it a great place to visit if you’re staying at a local villa in Cala Blanca.Ciutadella is around 50 kilometres from Mahon (MAH) Airport, and the transfer time is between 45 minutes to an hour.
Cala Blanca is a modern resort, built in the 1990s, and improved to conform to the evolution of the travel industry. Open Air Markets – Held in the Plaza de Mercat each day. Friday/Saturday markets are held in Plaza de Es Born. There is also a market in Ciutadella. They have stalls offering fruit and vegetables, leather goods, local produce and souvenirs. The shops in the small surrounding resorts are mostly supermarket/SPAR-type shops and the typical souvenir shops. You’ll have to venture further afield from your private villa in Cala Blanca to get to the designer shops and vintage boutiques in Ciutadella.
Cala Blanca has a pedestrianised town centre, so it is easy to walk around. There are also taxis in the area, which only cost a few Euros for most local journeys. There are mini trains taking people to and from the beach.
