We are pleased to offer a selection of quality holiday villas in Calahonda. Calahonda is situated between Marbella and Fuengirola. It is a busy resort with rustic flavours and based around the holiday-maker. The purpose built resort rests on green grasses and has a very friendly, British atmosphere. With its no-nonsense sun sea and sand combination, Calahonda is a virtually self sufficient community. It is a great holiday destination as it enjoys the lovely climate with its 320 sunshine days per year and the winter average temperature is 16ºc. All our villa sin Calahonda are close to the beach, shops and restaurants.
The famous jet-set marina of Puerto Banus is a few kilometers away with many boutiques, restaurants as well as the old town and plazas. Alternatively Copabino is a quieter harbour, with its quaint little restaurants, overlooking the boats. This is a few minutes drive away. If you like traditional Spanish white village’s places such as Mijas, with its wonderful views, narrow streets and craft shops, and Ronda with its amazing Viaduct are not too far away.
Calahonda’s beach is the longest of the Mijas coast The beach is well used, with ramp access, many beach bars and activities. Also the beach has some quiet corners for those who want to relax in peace and quiet. The beach is great for families and caters for all kinds of people, sunbathers, scuba divers and fishermen. There is plenty to do in and around the resort of Calahonda to make you holiday how you like it.
Golf
Our Calahonda villas are very close to several golf courses, however there are between 30 and 40 courses within a 45mile radius.
Things to Do in Calahonda
Rent one of our Calahonda villas and you won't be stuck for something to do. In Calahonda there are many sports facilities, bars, restaurants, clubs and the ‘El Zoco’ shopping centre. The lively main ‘strip’ in Calahonda has a very British feel to it, with bars and restaurants a plenty. There are many water sports such as jet skiing, diving and sailing available from the beach and harbour area in Calahonda. The El Zoco Shopping centre has a wide variety of attractions, there is a large supermarket, banks, hairdressers/barbers, Discos a selection of bars, restaurants including English, Spanish and Dutch.
There is a Land Train which travels around Calahonda showing you the sites and giving easy transport around the resort.

Club del Sol Leisure Sports Complex (Tel:0034 952-93 95 95)
There are 12 excellent tennis courts comprising 7 brand new clay courts and 5 plexi-cushion courts. The Club del Sol has four brand new squash courts, is open 7 days a week and you can play squash from 9.00 in the morning until 21.30 hours. Other Facilities includes a Sport Gym, Sports Shop, Snack Bar, Children’s Playroom all within one complex.
The Aztec Centre Sports Complex
is in the heart of Riviera del Sol which is a sporting complex with very good facilities. Olympic sized swimming pool, 7 tennis courts, badminton courts, mini golf and a gymnasium. The Aztec centre is open to non residents and also has an Internet centre.
As well as offering activities such as watersports, golf, cycling, horseriding and hiking, the Costa del Sol has many theme parks, go-karting, crazy golf, safari parks and beautiful public gardens to visit:
Parque Acuatico Mijas i n Mijas is a water park with aquatic attractions for the whole family. Open May through October. Selwo Adventure wildlife Park is located in Estepona. There are over 100 hectares of land and it is the largest wildlife park in Europe. There are over 2,000 species of animals representing all corners of the world. They can be viewed both on foot and also from 4x4 vehicles which take visitors around the park.
Selwo Marina in Benalmadena is the same as the adventure wildlife park, except it houses water species and has the only penguin aquarium in Spain

Heading in the direction of Marbella, on the coastal road, is where Funny Beach is located, which is only a 10 minute drive from Calahonda. This area has a go-karting track and will let children over seven years drive round the track on the smaller children’s go-karts.

Fuengirola: Tuesday is the main market day, it is the biggest outdoor market on the coast, it attracts many visitors as well as the locals
Estepona: The Sunday market is at the marina, it sells, leather goods, watches, costume jewellery, arts and crafts, presents, novelties, Cd’s tapes and DVD’s.

Fiestas are when every town and village puts on a splendid show, not only for themselves but also for those who come from all over to admire and enjoy. Over 3,000 fiestas are celebrated every year in Andalucia, including fairs, pilgrimages, carnivals and religious procession. Boat Trips
There are ferrys departing from Gibraltar, Algeciras and Tarifa taking you to Tangier and Ceuta in Morroco, they run on a daily basis and take between 80 – 90 minutes.
Food and Drink in Calahonda
If you are staying in one of our Calahonda villas you will have the option to eat in or out. If you decide to eat out there are plenty of options in Calahonda, offering all types of cuisine, including everything from traditional Spanish and Andalusian cuisine to oriental cuisine and international food is offered and therefore guarantees that everyone will find something to their liking.
There are numerous bars you can choose from to have a drink in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Alternatively you could also go for a walk along the “Strip” – a street that leads up the hill behind the El Zoco centre – where you will also find a number of bars. Most bars and restaurants located in this area are English-owned which makes it a lot easier for those who do not speak Spanish. Prices are reasonable and menus are often based on English dishes.
